A strategic approach to business communication is an integral part of everyday
business (Barker & Gower, 2010). Key learning from the discussion was types of business
communication and the ways they are applied in various business organizations. Effective
business communication includes various stages that start with the sender initiating the
message. It becomes effective once the intended meaning of the sender has been transmitted
effectively to the receiver. In effective business communication two or more parties are
involved and it contributes significantly to the company's success. It is the professional mode
of communication that promotes positive interaction. The process of effective business
communication was discussed and understood in a step by step manner. The role of social
media marketing has been discussed in the discussion such that it can be used for business
interactions. Often business reports and annual reports are sent through the use of social
media to different shareholders. The use of social media has become important in business
organizations.
The three points learned from the discussion which can be applied in the future are,
business decisions are taken with effective business communication. Organizational disputes
are reduced through effective business communication and it enables in problem-solving in
an effective and efficient manner within an organization. Business reports can be part of
effective business communication as they express information and message clearly. The
process of business report writing is clearly discussed. Effective business communication
plays a critical role in business organizations.
