INTRODUCTION
One of the latest trends in today's time is to define the person by his appearance and
footwear is the most important of an individual's appearance. This practice is more
popular in the youth today as there is very huge variety to choose from along with
many different styles of footwear. So it gets difficult for the companies to maintain the
creativity and innovation in their products as there the level of competition is already
very high in the market. This project aims at the development of the new range of the
summer sandals named as Sun and Shade by Hotter. The project will be focussing
on the analysis of the market for making the launch success of the new product by
Hotter. In this project aims and objectives will be set for the launch along with the
preparation of the project management plan. Also, small scale research is been
conducted along with the performance review at last.
One of the biggest shoe manufacturer in the UK, Hotter, manufacturing around 2.2.
Million shoes every year in their factory. The brand was established in 1959, as a
manufacturer of the slippers, and now in the current situation, it offers a wide
collection of the stylish footwear for both men and women. The shoes are produced
with the hidden concept of comfort which includes the super sofas well as the
breathable leather, soles that are flexible and lightweight along with the cushioning
underfoot.

A)DEVISE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
A project management plan can be described as the formal approved document
which helps in the execution of the project. In the project management plan, the
documentation is done regarding the necessary actions taken to define, integrate,
prepare and coordinate the various planning activities (Bassot, 2016). Also, the
execution, monitoring, controlling of the project are also defined in the plan.
Therefore a business project is prepared for conducting the market investigation for
the new summer product, i.e. Sun and Shade by Hotter. The project will also help in
the development and marketing of the project in a successful manner for the new
summer sandals by Hotter (Bassot, 2016).
Being a project manager, I was given the duty of planning and conducting the
research in order to do the assessment of the market for the new summer sandals
by Hotter and to design it in such a way that it has all the requirements needed to
present it in the London fashion week (Boynton, 2016).
The main aim with which the project is developed is to facilitate the creation and
development of the new summer sandal, Sun and Shade by Hotter so as to compete
in the market with the existing brands and to present it during the London fashion
week (Boynton, 2016).
Aims of the project:
To design and create a new summer sandal, i.e. Sun and Shade for the Hotter
Company.
To analyse the market trend for the launch of the new sandal by Hotter.
To formulate the market plan in order to market the newly designed and launched
sandals.
Objectives of the project:
To give a tough completion to the existing brands.
To represent the Sun and shade, a new sandal in the London fashion week.
To establish a collaboration with the major players of the fashion industry.

The SMART check of the aims and objectives:
Specific
The aims and objectives of the project should be simple and specific, therefore the
aims and objectives set are to the point i.e. creation and design of the new sandal,
doing the market analysis to launch the sandal by Hotter, presenting it in the London
Fashion Week etc. (Brown, 2016).
Measurable
The aims and objectives set should be meaningful and measurable just like the aims
and objectives set in the project i.e. presenting the product in the London fashion
week, collaborating with the big fashion brands etc. (Brown, 2016).
Achievable
The goals and objectives should be achievable in nature i.e. it should be realistic.
The aims and objectives set in the project are achievable i.e. creation of the new
product i.e. Sun and Shade by Hotter, presenting it to the London fashion week etc.
(Brown, 2016).
Relevant
The aims and objectives set should be relevant to the project. Therefore the aims
and objectives set in the project are relevant to the theme of the project i.e. creation
and marketing of the new product by the Hotter (Brown, 2016).
Time-bound
The aims and objectives are set with the deadline, i.e. before the event of the
London Fashion Week, Sun and Shade i.e. the new sandal is needed to be prepared
which is the aim of the company (Brown, 2016).

Risk
The major risk that is been faced in the conduction of the research is the lack of time
along with the financial resources (Crane and Matten, 2016). The risk of the project
must be ensured with respect to the quality of the project at it meets the standards of
the project and is able to accomplish the aims and objectives of the projects. The risk
related to the timely completion of the project will be minimised by using the Gantt
chart and also the funding of the project will be analysed and managed by doing the

The aims and objectives of the research project are devised in order to outline the
title of the project which will also help in drawing the conclusion. After that, a plan is
to be prepared for the project management which covers the cost, scope, time,
communication and risk of the project (Denscombe, 2014). Further, a breakdown
structure for the work is also been prepared to provide the proper timescale and
stages so as to facilitate the completion of the project (Denscombe, 2014).

C) SMALL SCALE RESEARCH BY APPLYING BOTH
QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
METHODOLOGIES
Small scale researches are done with the help of qualitative and quantitative
research methodologies. In order to conduct the primary research, a focus group is
been created and the questionnaire method is been adopted. On the other hand, in
order to conduct secondary research, a literature review is been done (Gruber et al.,
2015).
In order to conduct the quantitative research, primary research is been done with the
help of the focus group questionnaire that will help in drawing the results and framing
the conclusion accordingly. This type of the focus grouping method will help in
conducting the investigation as well as the production and marketing of the Sun and
Shade, the summer sandal by Hotter (Gruber et al., 2015). Also, it is done to assess
the quality of the sandal produced so as to make sure that it is good enough to be
presented in the London Fashion Week. The number of the participants in the
research is thirty and the data is been collected from the key persons involved in the
project i.e. experts, managers, designers, production team, marketing team etc.
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
Launching of the new product
As per the Keiser et al., (2016), one of the famous and most practised strategies for
the growth in today's scenario is launching of wither the new product or new brand or
going for the extension in the existing product line. According to the Keiser, the best
way of launching the new brand is to position it in an integral part of the industry.
Therefore the elevation of the brand launch and its connection to the story helps in
giving the launch a purpose that is more meaningful (Husebø et al., 2015).
To analyse the market plan
As per the Denscombe (2014), the development and production of the luxury and
fashionable project require the specifications that are higher along with the high
budget and the high quality. In order to produce the luxury summer shoes,
development of the plan is needed in order to communicate with the target, aims and
