Background of Sustainability issues and Solar power scenario
This case is related to the designing, manufacturing and delivering the most efficient
solar cells in the world. This designing, manufacturing and delivering the most efficient solar
cells has been done by Sun power with a view to increase the sustainability of environment and
social factors. It is observed that use of natural resources in easy and determine in efficient
manner not only reduce the overall cost of capital but also increase the sustainability of natural
resources as well.

Sustainability could be defined as ability to maintain at a certain level or rate with a view
to avoid the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance in
determined approach. Sun power has developed an effective program in its research and
development department with a view to increase the overall effectiveness of delivering the most

This thesis statement has been chosen on the basis of company’s inclination towards
adopting sustainable business functioning with a view to provide best possible environmental
and social benefits. It is considered that use of efficient solar cells and reducing the depletion of
natural resources result to saving scare resources for the future generation (Nidumolu, Prahalad,
& Rangaswami, 2009).

Sustainability issues faced by Sun power is related to development of proper value chain
activities in which natural resources and power cells used in production process. It represents
environmental and social risks to operations such as emergences of hazardous substance, high
level of energy conservation and depletion of various natural resources while developing
efficient solar cells around the globe. However, many organizations are facing high cost
investment issues in installation of new efficient solar cells around the globe in their value chain
activities. Furthermore, the main problem is related to its short term investment to maintain the
sustainability of scarcity of natural resources (Dangelico & Pujari, 2010).

Achieving sustainability by Solar power
It is evaluated that if solar power could install highly technologies developed to manage the solar
power system to produce efficient solar cells for the generation of energy then it could not only
minimize the cost of energy production but also increase the positive impact on the society and
environment at large. There are various sustainable benefits of adoption of efficient solar cells
for the generation of energy by organization (Dincer and Acar, 2015).

For instance, if organizations such as G E capital, Wesfarmers and Woolworth adopt
this level of efficient solar cells as the secondary sources then it will provide them easy

will reduce the gas emission and hazardous by products of Solar power company (Khan and
Arsalan, 2016).
