a. INTRODUCTION
Personal effectiveness refers to the branch of the self help movement dealing with goals,
success and concepts which are being related. Personal effectiveness integrates some of ideas
and concepts from the power of thinking in favourable and positive manner and positive
psychology but in general its is being distinct from the new thought Movement. Personal
effectiveness means to utilise all capabilities, skills, energy and talents to reach the target and
goals of individual lives. This helps in better understanding of the talent of the individual. It
explains about the lack of skills which individuals possess and what need to be done to achieve
the goals of the company(Personal Effectiveness in The Workplace, 2019). A primary factor of
differentiating personal effectiveness take generally more systematic approach which includes
number of factors, besides the simple favourable thought process. Some proponents takes and
approach with similarities to enterprise business process management techniques. Other may
take physical wellness and holistic spiritual approach. The present report is being on the case
study review of Sundar Pichai who is the CEO of google. It will highlight with application of
theories and framework to the personal effectiveness to provide with critical evaluation of the
skills and behaviour that has being used by Sundar Pichai to be the effective global leader. It
will led with the reflection statement which has discussed how to apply principles of personal

individual in the organisation understand the Mission and Vision of company. His effective

inspiration, and executing the change in relation with group of employees who are committed to
achieve business targets. It is full range leadership model being used by Sundar Pichai in its
business Operations. It leads with engaging the employees of company to thrive for better
performance and achieve results.

its team. His skills and behaviours leads with motivating employees of company to take fruitful

becoming the global leader of the company. It has led with having lot of data and information
and analysing the information more effectively to support business decision making
prominently. It has helped with effective training and development of employees which has
helped with understanding of various business aspects.

various things such as,
Determination- I need to be highly determined to achieve personal effectiveness. This will allow
me to achieve the goals which are being specific without getting distracted and disturbed by
things that are being less important. This will lead to development of my focus, commitment and
desire to achieve goals in my life and be competitive in highly challenging changing
environment. This will be developed by me if I am improving and developing upon my self
discipline.
Self confidence- I need to be highly self confidence in doing what is being assigned to me. This
will come about to me as a result when I am self aware of things which leads to personal
effectiveness. I need to know the action and determine what will be the consequences of the
same and trusting myself (Edwards,2017). To develop with my self confidence I need to get the
better understanding of myself and my capabilities and strength. I need to develop the favourable
attitude and believe that by right action and getting the right goals to reach to my success.

Optimism – This relates with my thinking process that future is worth living if I take step up and
take up the responsibility of making it so. I need to believe and expect that things will go good

Managing of stress- To be highly personal effective, I need to manage the stress. If I do not do

to undertake and understand uncertain condition which can slowly build stress upon me and lead
me with non productive individual with no worth in marketplace. Therefore, it is being highly

Persistent- Many individuals fail because of there lack of persistence. Its states that I need to try
and try, until I succeed. I need to develop never give up attitude which will help me to succeed
in my live. I need not to be get affected by the obstacle and hurdles which comes in my way. I
need to keep moving forward in my career progression. If I overcome obstacle then it will not be
hard for me to achieve any kind of goals and desired targets.
Time management – One of the most effective skill and trait which I need to develop is
concerned with management of time. This will help with alignment of task and activities within
the time that will lead with achievement of my personal goals to be successful in competitive in
job market. It is being defined as the ability to control and plan how to effectively spend time on
accomplishing my goals. Without proper time management, achievement of my targets will take
too long and thus will affect unfavourable in personal effectiveness. I need to prepare a to do list
which will guide my effective time management (Reynolds, 2017).
Creativity – I need to be highly creative and innovative for doing what I want to. It will as a
result help me with standing out of lot and lead to clear recognition of my personality. I need to
think out of box, which will lead to effective decision making process and being successful in
my life. To be effective, I need to be different, think differently and let curiosity and originality
in my mind. It will be possible for me, if I engage myself into the environment, which allows
with my creativity and invitation to new ideas, solution and vision. By being creative, I will be
effective which go parallel with each other.

Self Motivation – To imply with my personal and self effectiveness, I need to be self motivated .
I need not to wait for other to come and motivate me. I need to find motivation within myself
without depending upon the factor which are being outside to me (Duan, 2019). If I can
motivate myself then execution of goals become easier for me, as this is the one factor, which
will give drive for me to keep moving and pushing. I need to understand what will motivate me.
Strategies for addressing personal development needs
There are various strategies which can be used by me in addressing to needs that counters
with personal effectiveness- This are
Setting of objectives and goals – The first strategy leads to setting up of goals and which will
leads in providing me with guidance towards what task and activity needs to be done. It will lead
to making and identifying of what I need to achieve and how I need to achieve it. This can be
used as benchmark for measuring success. This needs to be SMART I.e. smart, measurable,
achievable, realistic and within the time frame.
Communication – I need to improve upon my communication skills which includes ability to
write, listen and speak. By this I will be able to understand what other individuals are feeling and
saying. It will helps in conveying my own feelings and ideas more productively. This strategy
will helps me in speak confidently and clearly by using a tone that is being favourable and
appropriate for situation (Cathro, O’Kane, and Gilbertson, 2017).
Starting with small- The strategy leads with breaking down of targets into various smaller steps
and start with just one selected as above. I need to challenge myself to achieve the modest targets
which will lead to my growth from their own wards. Reaching with more achievable and small
goals for personal development will empower and motivate me to continue further. This will
lead to working for the end goal.
Going at the pace -This relates with in not pressurising myself to achieve something within short
duration. I need not to overcommit myself, as if goals are not achieve, I need to be kind to
myself and relax with point in time.
Improving with my existing skills – I need to improve with something I need to improve with
my existing skill and strengthening the same, which can be utilised in manner that helps in
standing out of lot. It helps with becoming extraordinary and as a result will lead with my best of
area where it will be hard for others to compete.

said that successful people have growing mindset and that they believe that even abilities and

need to challenge myself and grow subsequently (Verhoef,2019).

one feels and helps in establishing with better understanding and maintaining of relationship with
various parties that guides with success and getting help from others. This strategy will helps me
to negotiate on better terms as a result leads with getting best of the deals that support with

Step out of the comfort Zone- The most of the important strategy for personal development. It
leads with stepping out of the comfort zone, which leads with learning new things and exploring
areas of weakness and making arrangements to overcome the same. It is being stated that I will
only grow if I am willing to feel uncomfortable and awkward when I am trying something new.
This will lead with opportunity to grow in challenging marketplace and reaching with the higher
level of performance (Vazou, 2017). This will helps me to learn about myself by taking of risks
which will help me to grow as an individual. By this strategy this will helps me letting know
about my passion, strengths, talent and weaknesses which can be utilised in optimum manner to
support my growth process and leads with personal effectiveness in order to be successful in job
market which is highly competitive in nature.
