Introduction
In this report an Action plan is developed for resolving the problems in the working process
of The Company ‘Supa Fresh’. Especially the problems are faced by the workers in the
operational sector of the Company while processing and maintaining the food. Sometimes the
problems were also identified in the floor and machinery part of the Company. Budget is also
prepared for an effective implementation of the Action plan. After making the action plan, a
communication plan will also be developed for communicating all the necessary information
to the employees and customers of The Company. The focus is also provided over the
effective execution of the Action plan which is prepared for ensuring the safety and health of
the employees.
Assignment (1): Tasks
Part (A): Communicating organisational mission and goals
The major goal of the organisation is to develop a safe and secure environment for working
as well as generating the revenue by sales. Safe environment of work is essential for work.
As discussed with the case study, it was observed that not only the workers of the company
are facing risk while working with the operation sector of the company but also customers are
facing risk because of the improper infrastructure of The Company. Insufficient facilities and
lack of suitable accessories are the major cause of accidental cases inside the organisation
which has been mentioned by WHS (JM Beus, 2016).
It was mentioned by WHS that an attendant cut her hand accidentally while she was slicing
the frozen meat. She has to face a lot of bleeding because of the cut. If the machinery would
be advanced and she would be wearing sufficient gloves or protecting equipment, she would
not face the accident. Workers are doing work for long hours, their health conditions may
suffer because of long working hours. Workers are suffering from physical pain and injuries
because of lifting heavy boxes. Floor is usually wet and customers and employee sometimes
slipped on the floor (government, 2020).
This is very clear that the managers of the company is not taking the safety of the employees
seriously and taking a risk with the health of the employees. The Company is also not
providing sufficient and effective training to the employee that is why they are unable to cope

up with the practical situations of work. The Company has to provide a safe and risk free
environment for the employee for their better physical condition and safety. The safety of the
employees should be the primary concern of the organisation (Kassu Jilcha, 2017).
Acts and legislations related to the safety of the employees:
Work health and safety act
The WHS provide rules and regulations related to the safety standard of the employee for
minimizing the risk of the health of the employees while working with the organisation. This
act also provides protection to the general public so that the health of the employees can be
protected in an efficient way (Government Q. , 2020).
Dangerous goods
This act is associated with safe storage and transport of carrying goods from one place to
another. Dangerous goods regulation 2011 also involved the safety regulations related to
manufacturing, storing, processing, packaging, selling and transportation of the goods from
one place to another place. This act is directly related to the safety of the employees and
public while dealing with some dangerous goods (victoria, 2020).
Privacy Act
The privacy Act 1988 was established to protect the personal information of the employee.
This deals with the Australian government agencies and private organisations with a yearly
turnover of more than $ 3 million. This Act makes the employees ensure about the safety and
privacy of their personal information (Government A. , 2020).
Part (B)
Building teams and individuals
Strategies to manage WHS issues: Action Plan for minimizing workplace injuries
First of all The Company should purchase latest equipment and machinery for the safety and
comfort of the employees. Employee should be well-equipped with gloves and boots while
working with the operation part. Sufficient number of equipment should be provided to the
employee and it should be of a good quality. The floor needs to be cleaned regularly. It

should be renovated and maintained regularly so that no one can slip on the floor. By
adopting the above stated methods the physical injuries and accidental cases may be
controlled up-to a certain limit (JM Beus, 2016).
To curb over the accidental cases training should be provided to the employee in a systematic
manner. Weight lifting training should be provided to the employee in order to make them
efficient while lifting the boxes in the stores of The Company. The boxes should be easy to
carry and easy to be lifted by the employees. Regularly monitoring and assessing the
problems of the workplace should be identified and improved by the managers of the
Company (JM Beus, 2016).
First aid boxes and first aid facilities should be available inside the Company for any
accidental case. Emergency vehicles and ambulance facilities should be inside the Company
to handle any accidental case. However the basic medical check-up should be provided to the
employees. Canteen and proper food arrangements should be done on behalf of the Company.
The shift timing for working should not be more than eight hours. Sufficient breaks in
between the working hours and leaves should be provided to the employees for the well-
being of their health (Kassu Jilcha, 2017).
The Company should take care about their employees in each and every accidental case.
Insurance schemes should be provided to the employees in order to make them financially
capable in handling any accidental case. The managers and higher authorities of the Company
should work up-on maintaining a favourable environment for work which is not only safe for
physical health of the employees but also it should motivate them towards the work. Medical
insurance and life insurance should be provided to the employee to save their future in any
accidental case and to save the future of their family members especially who are dependent
on the employee (JM Beus, 2016).
The HR manager of the Company has to make and execute an effective action plan for the
well-fare of the employees. The effective execution and implementation of the action plan
with necessary budget is required for the better health and safety of the employees. For
developing a safe environment of work, employees should be protected from any risk related
to working at the workplace (JM Beus, 2016).

implementation of the activities which is described in the Action plan. It should also be
communicated to the employees for providing them proper information about the facilities
provided by the Company. Training related guidelines and regulations should also be
communicated to the employees. The communication should be done by using e-mail
services with including all details about the Action Plans and facilities provided to the
employees. Employees and managers should be verbally communicated by the high level
managerial authorities for making them understand about the strategies related to the safety
of the employees (MK Muchiri, 2019).

Personal and professional development
Reflection
I did my best to develop a safe environment for work to the employees which was my major
objective. I made a very effective action plan and communication plan for the wellbeing of
my employees. I engaged most of the team members in my team. I realised that I need a
training program in order to develop a good set of communication skills. I will try to be more
ethical and empathetic towards the needs of the employees.
Professional development plan
I will continue to develop my professional skills by receiving training and development
program. I will do more research in order to solve the issues of organisation so that I can
develop my skills. I will also work hard to understand the problems of the employees by
analysing the working conditions (MK Muchiri, 2019).
Part (B)
Research tasks
New technologies related to machinery and equipment should be used for execution and
processing part of the Company. By providing all the essential facilities to the employee, one
can ensure about the good image of the business in the public. Situational leadership style and
transformational leadership style is best suitable for meeting the requirements of the
employees. Ethical conduct in business is always beneficial in the long run because attrition
rate will be reduced and employee will feel motivated by having a suitable environment of
work (MK Muchiri, 2019).
Conclusion
On the bases of the case study, it has been concluded that the physical health of the
employees are at risk while operating and working with the various departments of the

Company. WHS is very much concern about the safety of the employees of the various
companies. As a manager of ‘Supa Fresh’ Company, The Action plan has been made for
protecting the employees from accidental cases and physical injuries. The analysis of the
various acts related to the safety of the employees has been done to understand the
importance of safety of the workers. After analysis of the scenario of the working conditions
and accidental cases of the employees, budget is also planned for purchasing the required
materials for the well-being of the employees. It can be concluded that Action Plan should be
implemented with the help of communication plan for the safety and protection of the
employees inside the organisations.
