The retail group refers to the business group or group of organisations where single
owners sells goods and services to individual customers. The “Super retail group” is one of the
Australia’s top ten retailers and the company is listed in Australian stock exchange. The
organisation deals in various products such as sports, fitness, super cheap auto, and super Retail
commercial products.
This company is being selected for conducting research on retail industry. The main aim
of this report is to conduct analysis in order to assist firm in analysing their position in market.
This process will allow them to improve and maintain their performance and gaining competitive
advantage.

A) External analysis: PESTEL analysis
The Pestle analysis technique can be used by organisation for identifying and measuring
the impact of various external factors on business operations.
Political factors- Political factors plays very important role in determining the various elements
that can have great impact on profitability of Super retail store. As the firm is operating in
different types of political environment that consist of various political risk which has great
effect on enterprise’s sustainability and growth.
Economic factors-Economic factors include income level of individual, etc. Plays important role
in identifying the demand and supply of products. It is very essential for organisation to analyse
growth of retail industry, identify its competitors before entering into market. This will aid firm
in reducing the impact of these factors on its productivity and eliminating various risks.
Social factors-These elements include culture, beliefs, values, trends etc. These factors play
significant role in understanding the market and customer. These factors can assist super market
group in gaining competitive advantage as well as achieving objective of becoming market
leader.
Technological factors-It is very essential for the organisation to conduct technological analysis
in as this will help them in increasing their productivity and efficiency.
