Considering the classification of manager and leaders, it is done as per the
understanding and reflection of the behaviour of both these persons. However, it is not true
that physically both these persons have to exist as such, but a single manager in an
organization necessarily could or couldn't be a leader. Also, I would like to emphasize the
universal fact that a leader is always a good manager, but a good manager necessarily might
not be a good leader. Therefore, there is no stereotype that a manager and leader are the same
people, but then again, they could or couldn't be.
As a matter of fact, the characterization of a manager is concerned based on the
qualities which lead to a better management of the organization. Broadly, functions like
planning, assigning of work and schedule are the characterization of a manager ("A Manager
Asks", 2010). In addition to this, supervising operations of daily life projects too are a part of
the manager's responsibilities. Therefore, these traits in specific are classified in the duties or
tasks of a manager. Moreover, a manager ensures that no matters are hampering the activities
of day to day work, and this is the reason why he is a manager.
Similarly, according to Mukherjee (2017) as far as leadership is concerned, working with a
team to enhance quality control and development of safe and working environment are the

leader's trait. According to Olanrewaju & Okorie (2019) this is because the leaders are more
oriented and focused on keeping their team on the front foot and uplifting them acting
themselves as a backbone Also, in terms of leadership, a leader's role and as he is expected to
have the senses required for promoting collaboration and a focus on the team.
