SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Topic 1:
A degree of masters in supply chain management (MSCM) have great potential
towards enabling professionals like me achieve their career goals in several ways. Firstly,
the supply chain management in big companies are very complex and require specialized
knowledge. The supply chain management courses attribute management students with in-depth
knowledge about managing supply chain so as to ensure that the firms they serve are able to
procure raw materials and WIP inventory at economies of scale. Secondly, supply chain
management consists of companies entering into contracts with suppliers on the parameters like
quality, supply terms, quality of supply, price(s) of supply and date of supply (Heckmann,
Comes and Nickel 2015). Thus, it is evident the course enriches the knowledge base of the
students with knowledge from different streams like law and costing. The third way in which a
degree in supply chain management can aspiring supply chain managers is with technological
knowledge. This is because, supply chain is integrated with other important business processes
like costing and marketing using software. Thus, supply chain management also attributes the
supply chain managers with technical knowledge. It can be inferred from the discussion that the
in-depth knowledge in several areas of operations right from costing and technical operations
enables the supply chain managers perform highly. This enables them to gain high positive
appraisal, promotion and thus meet their career goals (Nooraie and Parast 2015).

attend classes and trainings more seriously. This create a favourable educational environment to
impart teaching in a more streamlined and systematic manner. Thus, students attending MSCM
can contribute to the success of the lecture by their positive participation. Secondly, I can
contribute towards the success of the MSCM program by using the knowledge I have gained
about the SCM. I have a sound knowledge about how SCM works at the local market levels and
can help the weak candidates to understand the concept better (Christopher 2016). Thirdly, I
have attended seminars and workshops on SCM which has strengthened my understanding.
Thus, I can assist the professor in making the lectures more lucid by preparing presentations.
Fourthly, I can also aid the candidates with the project works and groups by using innovative
ideas. I would also encourage the weaker students to participate in the lectures, discussions and
group works more proactively. Thus, students can contribute towards making the entire learning
of MSCM by collaborating and cooperating with each in gaining education. The students can
contribute towards the success of the teaching session of MSCM by enforcing teamwork and
motivation. Thus, it can be concluded students contribute towards making MSCM more fruitful
by their positive participation.
