Introduction
The purpose of this research paper is to enlighten the reader regarding the information about
supply chain management and integration in the business environment. Supply chain
management in an organization refers to the process that helps the company in integrating
several functions of the company and simultaneously delivering adequate services to the
customers in the business environment. The report further develop the details about the
article, ‘Supply Chain Quality Integration: Antecedents and Consequences’.
Summary
The supply chain management refers to the process that helps the business to adequately
deliver the products and services from the company to the customers in the business
environment. The article elaborates the process of supply chain management with the quality
related perspective in the business environment. Nowadays, activities of the business are
deteriorating in the business environment because the organization faces difficulty in
delivering adequate services to the customers. The quality management practices should be
further extended in the supply chain network of the company so that the customers should
receive the products in a way they are designed by the company. The concept of supply chain
quality integration (SCQI) perspective helps the organization realizes that there are three
factors that influence the quality of product or service delivery in the environment that are
what factors influence the SCQI, secondly how they influence and thirdly how does these
factors impact on the quality related performance of the business (Huo, Han, & Prajogo,
2016).
SCQI functions of the company focuses on the integration of internal and external activities
in such a way that quality-relationship is built and communication becomes a tool for the
business. There are three dimensions of SCQI that are internal, suppliers and the customer
quality integration. In order to maintain quality for the business, it is important for the
management to synchronize these three functions of the business. There are several models
and hypothesis defined in the environment that explains the concept and the ways in which

organization can improve the performance and quality. The data for the article was collected
using HPM (High Performance Manufacturing) project in different countries (Wu, & Chang,
2016). Thus, the research elaborated that the SVQI process of the company is not only related
to internal process of the company but it extends to the partners of the business who can help
the business in attain quality management in supply chain. The limitation of this type of
process is that the supply chain process is diversified and occurs in the worldwide market so
any type of differential environmental situation can affect the quality of the services of the
company. Thus, it should be noted that the organization cannot control all the aspect that are
related to SCQI but they can focus on way that can improve the quality of their service
delivery process in the environment (Nyadzayo, & Khajehzadeh, 2016).
Assessment
Analysing the given article, it should be noted that the SCQI concept is new in the business
environment as the organizations only focus on the quality of the product when they
manufacture it but they do not focus on the quality of the product that is damaged while
delivering it to the customers in the business environment. It is important for the organization
to integrate the internal functions with the external environment in such a way that stability is
attained in the environment and quality is delivered in a way that it is expected by the
customers (Gutierrez-Gutierrez, Barrales-Molina, & Kaynak, 2018).
Conclusions
Thus, the fact should be noted that the SCQI concept focuses on the performance of the
company and the ways in which the product quality is hampered in the SCM process. This
process focuses on the specific performance and resource constraints so as to manage the
quality of the product.
