performance as well.
Logistic can be defined as process of planning, executing and controlling all procedures
for efficient and effective transportation. It aids to enterprises in enhancing value by improving
commodities that ensures about the availability of commodities. Henceforth, enhancement in
efficiency, increment in sales, building of effective relationship and improved customer service
are the main key purpose of logistic and supply chain management (Mikurak and Accenture
Global Services Ltd, 2018). Thus, strategy of logistic defined as to find out most attractive and
efficient way of distributing goods at a high level of service. It allows firm to avoid acquisition
of material for production in manufacturing base.
Introduction to the company and two chosen topics-
In this assignment Jaguar Land rover is taken which is a luxury British multinational car
manufacturing firm that was occupied by Indian automotive company Tata Motors. The
company is mainly dealing into designing, developing, manufacturing and sale of its vehicles on
worldwide level.
For this report, two chosen topic are as Managing quality and managing people in
operation and chain management. Quality management is act that defined as overseeing all
activities and task that needs to maintain desired level of experience (Qi and Shen, 2019). This
process inclusive of quality policy, creation and implementation quality planning and assurance.
It is effective term that aids to have quality control and improvement in service of firm.
Henceforth, management of the flow of goods and services aids to deliver value to end
customer effectively along with optimising the process of delivering it. This streamlines the
business supply side activities in terms to maximise value of customer and helps to gain
competitive advantage in marketplace (Johnsen, Howard and Miemczyk, 2018)). Therefore,

supply chain management involves management of wide range of component and processes such
as shortage of raw material, to manage the inventory, movement of finished goods and process of
warehousing (Johnsen, Howard and Miemczyk, 2018). This both chosen topic will helps in term
to maximise firm’s sales by improving productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.
Therefore, supply chain management must be able to achieve fulfilment of demand that drive
outstanding customer value and also aids to enhance organisational responsiveness.
Managing quality- corresponding theories-
Quality management is term that aids to ensure about the outputs, benefits and processes
that aids to meet out stakeholder’s requirements. This is defined as customer oriented process
that main aims for continuous improvement in business operations. Total quality management
and six sigma have been developed to assist firms in terms to produce higher quality
commodities (Saberi and et.al., 2019). Enhancement in global competition in the past decades
has forced the auto-mobile firm to bring improvement in quality and efficiency. With the help of
using management tools the entity can able to improve its managerial process so that each things
can be conducted in better and efficient mode.
Therefore, Jaguar land rover is one of the multinational manufacturer of auto-mobiles
with complex history and also had struggles in producing quality products. Therefore, enterprise
manufactures auto-mobiles ranging from super charged sports coups very capable off road
vehicles for the Australian and British army. Total Quality management is that technique of
improving the overall quality of organisation its output like goods and services with continuous
and internal improvement (Total Quality Management in the Automotive Industry, 2017). TQM
is widely used term for inclusion of all the departments of organisation like that of finance,
accounting, engineering, marketing and selling. Henceforth, concept of TQM aids to bring
improvement in following process is-
Customer focus- Total quality management is an attention seeking factor within the
auto-mobile industry as quality and better services both aids to satisfy client expectation.
Sometimes, this is very typical to determine what client desires as taste and preferences
of clients change. In order to cope up with it firm must gather information constantly by
market studies, research studies and meeting clients in order to remain close to clients.
Continuous improvement- It is an approach that work as plan- do- study- act that aids
firms to have continual improvement. Managers to the enterprise must evaluate the

performance. Therefore, TQM is vital element to achieve high quality. For employee
empowerment this is the main function which includes extensive and continuous training
for quality management tools.
Use of quality tools- This is also another main purpose of TQM which includes laying
down responsibilities on employees in doing quality of work with use of tools. This will
be done for designing of products so that gaps could be identified in cause and effect
diagrams and is a problem solving tools which are used by quality control teams.
Management supplier’s quality- It is responsibility of managers to ensures suppliers
also about engagement in same quality practice (Johnsen, Howard and Miemczyk, 2018).
Therefore, suppliers have to meet out present quality standards and managerial authorities
needs to inspect all material at time of arrival.
Henceforth, it can be concluded that manufactures in the world are facing competition
from other competitors from the other competitors. Thus, Hugos, (2018) stated that customer
seeking their attention towards quality products and services at the lower cost. In order to
become the world class manufactures, it is crucial to implement the method of TQM to produce
the commodities that are economical, cost effective in nature. Thus, framework of manufacturing
auto-mobile industry will helps to improve the operational process and also remain competing in
industry. Thus, better quality and improved services aids to attract the customer and helps to
maintain firm reputation within market.
As per the view of Gölgeci, Karakas and Tatoglu, (2019) stated that Bentley also uses
TQM strategy to maintain quality managerial practices. There are six practices are as leadership,
suppliers, organisation, product, management of customer practices and human resource
management etc. However, mostly Bentley uses this approach to provide better design to
commodities that aids to meet our customer expectation and this is critical element in building a
quality product.
Thus, auto-mobile firms translate these generalisation into the specific technical
requirements. In contrary to Hong, Zhang and Ding, (2018) stated out that this is one of effective
tool that aids to enhance communication between the firm functions and departments.

major concern on execution Total quality management approach so it can leads to enhance
customer satisfaction. It is an approach that mainly concerned with technical aspects of quality as
well as participation of individuals in quality such as customer, human resource and suppliers.

invested in employee.
Herzberg theory- In this, there are two dimension as job satisfaction that are as satisfied
dissatisfies. Henceforth, this theory put focus on minimising dissatisfaction and maximise
satisfaction. Therefore, dissatisfaction inclusive of factors such as administration, working
condition, relationship, supervision and salary. Additionally, satisfiers inclusive of job,
promotion, achievement, recognition and responsibility.
Advancement- It leads to employee satisfaction. However, loyalty, productivity and quality

This model shows up the business process that requires to satisfy the demand of customer. It is
the model that consist of following factors in manner as are-
Plan- Elements inclusive of balancing resource with requirement and determining
communication along with entire chain. Therefore, this mainly state out to determine
business rules to improve and measure out supply chain efficiently. It aids to align the
supply chain plan with the financial plan of the enterprise.

leads to have continuous improvement, better employee involvement, and benchmarking
and centralized decision making authority.
Henceforth, quoted entity should also use approach of Triple bottom line that is effective
term in order to measure out performance particularly with poor reputation. It aids to
maintain sustainability in the working condition of entity.
To manage people in the enterprise Jaguar should use employee retention theories so that
better retention can be maintained. This leads to gain competitive advancement to the
enterprise.
Furthermore, quoted firm should use supply chain model as SCOR. It is one of the
effective model that aids to have better supply chain managerial process. This is assistive
to address, amend and convey supply chain managerial decision to responsible authority
of the enterprise.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be summarized that operational management termed out as
process for creating good and services. It can be done with help of planning, coordinating and
controlling all resources to have better results within the enterprise. On the other hand, logistic
supply chain management is cross functional approach that involves about how to manage
movement of raw material into finished commodities.
Furthermore, the present assignment has based on business activities of Jaguar, its British
exclusive manufacturing industry that based on providing innovative commodities to customer.

customer and to improve level of productivity within enterprise. Lastly, recommendation has
been given to manage effective performance level with help of using theories as TQM, employee
retention and SCOR to maintain supply chain efficiency.
