INTRODUCTION
Supply chain management refers to the term that include different activities starting from
raw material, work in progress till the product get manufactured and converted into finished
goods. Furthermore, it is distributed to the final user of the product or services. There are five
components that are included in supply chain such as planning, sourcing, making, delivering and
returning it to the customer. It is important for industries to maintain quality in manufacturing

element in supply chain that enable providing product and services on time so that it will help in
fulfilling demands of consumers in the market. This aims at continuous improvement in
manufacturing process that help in providing better quality products in the market. There are
several methods that are included in supply chain planning as gathering data from different
sources, providing lean principles by increasing visibility and lastly maintaining standard while
manufacturing product in the company. It plays an important role in an organization that help in
boosting the best customer service, reducing operating cost and improving financial position of
company in the future (Meindl, 2016). Essay mainly emphasized on new product/ service
development for Glen field hospital and different aspects of managing quality.
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Glen field hospital is also known as Glen-field General Hospital that is situated in
Leicester city of United Kingdom. It is most famous hospital that specialize for coronary care

The main aim of this hospital is to protect women with various problems by offering and

child. This hospital is provided various range of services to its patients, including nationally

product into the market. Its main aspect is to design new product that possess some different

Transformation is being done for the purpose of bringing changes in Glenfield hospital that aim
at providing best services to its customers. While implementing new services into hospital proper

concept into business (Wang and et. al., 2015). It is depended on supplier as if raw material is
supplied on time then it will be providing right service to patient that are coming to visit hospital.

On the other side, for better work they should use Leas theory for reduce wastage from
services process. This help in providing various perspective for hospital as by lean
manufacturing concept there is less waste that will be incurred in the hospital.
In addition to that, Tripple bottom Line company have to focus on aim in measuring all
these three dimensions that are included in this approach which is people, plant and profit. There
are several benefits that include reputation, recruitment, increased productivity and new bringing
potential market in the future.

From the above study it can be summarized that supply chain management plays an
important role in business for the purpose of bringing effectiveness and efficiency in working for
the future. This includes different elements such as just-in-time, lean manufacturing and supply
chain agility for bringing more opportunities in the future. New product development help in
bringing new ideas into business for future growth. That had help to achieve goals and objectives
of company in respective and effective manner by creating various job opportunities and
