This report provides an overview of three articles focusing on various aspects of supply chain departments and their impact on procurement systems and maintaining working relationships. The first article evaluates how innovation theory in the supply chain moderates the relationship among supplier innovativeness, information sharing, strategic sourcing, and supply chain agility. It emphasizes the importance of a flexible work environment and information sharing through technological advancements. The second article discusses dual sourcing supply chains and how flexibility in dual sourcing can decrease optimal prices. The third article highlights the importance of integrating global and local procurement for maintaining superior supplier working relations in a competitive global environment. The role of an efficient supply chain manager is to implement innovative strategies and policies to share necessary information effectively, thus improving coordination between service providers and users.

In this very specific article, the study has focused to make an in-
depth evaluation on how innovation theory in supply chain department
is able to moderate the relationship among supplier innovativeness,
information sharing, strategic sourcing, and supply chain agility. In this
very specific article, the author has stated that employees working in
supply chain department should get an agile work environment. Kim et
al. stated that employees have to be associated with shipping and
logistics. As a result, they do not have any fix shift schedule. Efficient
employees thus show their reluctant attitude in being associated with
supply chain department. Therefore, the business authority should give
a flexible work environment to the employees so that they do not show
their reluctant attitude in being a part of supply chain department.
In order to make the entire business process innovative the
supply chain department has rendered information sharing system
within the business process. By using various technological
advancements, such as Radio Frequency Identification, both the
customers and the service providers can keep a constant update about
the delivery process of products. With the help of surveillance
technology, the business experts can keep a constant control over the
entire shipping process. Sharing information with each other by using
the advancement of technology is very much effective for maintaining a
transparency between supply chain departments.
Production and Pricing Policies
in Dual Sourcing Supply
Chains (Article 2)
The author in this very specific article has provided a detailed
overview about the concept of dual sourcing supply chain. Duel
sourcing supply chain is the management practice of using two
suppliers equally for a given component. Serel stated that the split of
supplying components might be equal or not. The author in this very
specific article has highlighted that dual sourcing supply chain
flexibility may be helpful in decreasing the optimal price. On the other
hand, the cost of emergency supply is low. The author has also
mentioned in this article that optimizing price for a particular stocking
factor is higher than the price selected for jointly optimal.
Integrating Global and Local
Procurement For Superior
Supplier Working Relations

The author in this very specific article has highlighted the importance of
integrating Global and Local Procurement for maintaining Superior
relation within suppliers’ working. Yeniyurt et al. opined that with the
dynamic progress of globalization, the needs and demands of the
customers are changing gradually. Based on the current trends of
customers’ demand the organization has to make effective strategies and
policies. The study has focused to make an in-depth evaluation on how

global organization can use globally integrated procurement in order to
achieve both global sourcing and local sourcing responsiveness. With
the gradual progress of globalization and competitive business
environment, organizations are receiving huge market threats. In this
kind of situation, both global and local procurement system would be
very much effective for maintaining a proper suppliers’ working
relation. The author has opined that local sourcing and global sourcing
are effective enough in drawing the attention of both regional customers
as well as global customers.
Summary: The above three article has depicted various aspects of supply chain departments and their
impact of procurement system in maintaining working relationship. The role of an efficient supply chain
manager is to implement innovative strategies and policies within business process in order to share
necessary information. As a result, the coordination between service providers and service users would be
very much effective.
