Methods of survey administration refer to the means through which the survey data for a
given research may be collected (De Leeuw, Hox, & Dillman, 2012). The electronic administration
method is the most viable method that will be applied to meet the quantitative research
objectives. The electronic method of survey administration is applicable and most effective in
addressing the research questions because is practical, feasible, and also technologically savvy
(Nayak & Narayan, 2019). The method is important because it enables researchers to gather
information from large populations. Other methods of survey, like face to face interviews as well
as telephone interviews, are not feasible because of the large population expected to grant the
research with data. To meet the four objectives, there is a need to collect information from a
large population hence making electronic administration method to be the most appropriate
method.
The electronic administration method is also effective in meeting the qualitative
objectives because it enables researches to get real-time results from a large population. For
instance, immediately, the surveys are completed and sent online, the researchers can easily
analyze the response given and effectively and quickly address concerns or issues that may
require immediate attention. The electronic administration method can allow the large data
collected to be automatically tabulated and presented in multiple formats that allow for effective
interpretation (Alessi & Martin, 2010).
The fact that data collected through the electronic administration method goes directly to
the database enhances the accuracy of the data by reducing the margin of error, unlike when the
data is fed into the database manually (Pazzaglia, Stafford, & Rodriguez, 2016). The accuracy of

data is an important consideration for any research because it allows accurate results and
findings, which enable researchers to effectively make valid conclusions (Rice, Winter, Doherty,
& Milner, 2017). Besides enhancing accuracy, electronic administration method is essential,
especially when the expected data is large because it enhances the objectivity of the feedback
collected. Other methods of survey administration, especially the self-administered survey
methods, can have a significant influence on the response that is given by the respondent hence
affecting the accuracy of the data collected (). For example, as an interviewer administers a
questionnaire, his or her tone, and presentation, may bar the respondent from giving the right
answers to questions asked. The electronic administration method is, therefore, important
because it eradicates the errors that may be experienced in the self-administration survey
(Braekman et al., 2018).
Adopting the electronic administration method is crucial because it is cost-effective. The
method significantly reduces the cost of administration and also reduces the cost of the whole set
up. The cost of administration is reduced when the electronic method is applied because the
researchers do not have to invest in printing, postage, or paper (McPeake, Bateson & O’Neill, 2014).
The money that could have been used to settle the telephone bills or to facilitate the movement of
the people conduct the in-person survey is saved for other purposes.
The electronic method helps to save time and effort because the survey questionnaires
can be simultaneously sent to many people, and the feedback can also be collected at the same
time. Using the appropriate online feedback survey, it is easy to effectively collect, administer,
and analyze surveys within the shortest time possible (Vannette, 2014). Simultaneously
performing the functions enables the researchers to save a considerable amount of time.

It is also appropriate to choose the electronic method as a way of survey administration because
it is highly convenient for the respondents. The method enables the respondents to choose the
time that they want to fill out the questionnaire, and it also gives them the freedom to stop
whenever they wish to stop. When the participants in a survey have control over the time when
they can take part in the survey, they are likely to increase their engagement in the survey
(Hunter, 2012). Increasing the participation of the respondents in the survey is important because
it helps to increase the rate of response.
Considering the electronic administration method may be important for the research
because it provides flexibility in the research methodology that is considered. Regardless of the
research design that is applied in the study, the electronic administration method can be applied
to collect the necessary data that is needed. The method also exhibits a high level of flexibility
because it allows for various forms of questions to be considered in the survey (Heiervang &
Goodman, 2011). On the side of the respondents, flexibility is achieved because the electronic
systems enable them to skip the questions that they are not in a position to answer.
The electronic method also enhances the accessibility of the survey questionnaire to the
clients because they can access it through different platforms. For instance, if the survey
questions are sent via mail to the participants, they can easily access them through mobile
devices, desktops, laptops, and tablets, among other devices. The method can effectively support
large scale surveys like the one that is expected to collect the data needed for the qualitative
research objectives that are under consideration in our case. Lastly, considering the electronic

Electronic administration is a method of survey administration that depends on electronic
devices such as computer and the internet to collect data from the respondents. It has myriad
advantages that make it a viable method of administering the survey in various researches
(Vannette, 2014). The access of computer networks in the current world makes the use of
electronic administration of survey highly feasible in most populations. Several computer-based
techniques have been used in past studies to enable the administration of the survey (). Some of
these electronic techniques that can be applied in the method include computer-assisted survey
information collection, online surveys, and internet surveys.
The computer-assisted survey information collection was among the first electronic
technique for the administration of the survey. It refers to several survey methods that were
adopted as computer technology gained popularity in the field of research (Callegaro, Manfreda, &
Vehovar, 2015). The technique started as an interviewer-administered structured interview but
later evolved and became a self-administered technique (Braekman et al., 2018). However, all
the techniques that uses computers in their survey fall under this category.
Online surveys and internet surveys are two terms that are used interchangeably,
especially when considering the techniques for electronic survey administration. Some of the
perfect examples of internet surveys include email surveys and web surveys, which primarily

depend on the internet but can be carried out on different internet supporting devices such as
mobile phones and desktops, among others (de Vaus, 2016).
However, in the adoption of various techniques of the Electronic administration method,
it is important to consider methodologies and designs that are adopted in the research. It is
important to remember that the electronic survey is a highly flexible method. The method has
many advantages that are listed above. Therefore, with effective implementation, it is highly
possible to achieve the advantages that are expected and elevate the performance of the
organization in the survey.
In conclusion, it is important to consider the appropriate method for surveying any study.
Several methods can be used depending on the nature of the study. In our case, the electronic
administration method is the best method of administering the survey because of the numerous
advantages that are listed above. Implementing the method effectively is therefore, important and
may play a big role in improving the results of the study.
