The term sustainability is very important in today's world. The term Sustainability refers
to the ability to meet the own requirements without disrupting the future generations ability to
meet their needs. In the context of organization the term sustainability means running the
business without disrupting or negatively impacting the environment society and community.
The sustainability is important in the business because it strengthens the business structures
health and it helps to make a environment for the business to survive in the long term. Through
the sustainability the business can survive inn the long term and it helps it to get the competitive
advantage also (Mahdi, Nassar, and Almsafir, 2019). The main aim of this report is to discuss
the concept of sustainability and how this helps a organization positively to get the long term
advantages in the competition. Also this aims to cover the capabilities and attributes which are
necessary for a business to success in the dynamic and complex environment.

Sustainability:
The term sustainability refers to the ability of a business to run and develop without
exhausting the resources for the future. The concept of sustainability has three main pillars;
environmental, social, and economical. These are also can be defined as; planet, people and
profits. The sustainability enables a business to meet their current needs without compromising
the future needs (Park, Shin, and Kim, 2019). The sustainability improves the quality of people's
lives, it defends our environment and this also preserves resources for the future
generations. businesses working on renewable energy such as solar, wind, etc. is one of the
example of sustainability. The sustainability provides many benefits to the businesses such as it
increases the tax incentives, it attracts new customers and increase in sales, this also reduces
cost for the business also this impacts the society and build the brand image positive.
Sustainability impacting the long term competitive advantages of businesses
In the long term sustainability helps a business to gain the competitive advantage. The
sustainable competitive advantage are the ability of a business to fulfil the consumer needs
better than the competitors. These sustainability advantages are very difficult to copy or building
a replica. The sustainability in the long run helps a business to increase the economic growth,

return of equity and assets, also this helps to increase the market valuation of a business.
This helps to build a company's reputation and increase its valuation (Bolis, and et. al.,
2022). A business using the sustainability methods in the business can achieve these benefits
easily. Methods such as recycling process use in the business, renewable energy use, sustainable
use of materials in the process of manufacturing, less uses of natural resources or it could be
water recycling and reuse. Example of sustainability in the organization are; many companies
are using sustainable methods in their businesses such as Coca Cola company is using recycling
process, the company is also working on the saving energy, water safeguarding, wastage
reduction, eliminating the use of plastic and using renewable energy of solar in the factories, the
company is also focusing to reduce the natural resources consumption through sustainable
transport. This helped company to reduce its costing and it build a strong brand image of the
company in the society.
The attributes and capabilities which are necessary for business success in a complex and
changing environment.
The organization's capabilities refers to the skills of the organization to use its people and
resources to counter the changes in the environment of business and delivering value to the
customers (Ng, and Rezaee, 2020). To achieve success in the business the organizations
capabilities and attributes plays a crucial role. Following are some attributes and capabilities
which business requires in a dynamic environment;
Necessary Attributes for business: These defines characteristics or quality of a person.
Customer centric approach: A business must focus strongly on the consumers in order
to achieve success. If the business is constantly delivering the high quality services and
products this helps to gain the people's high and positive regard in this complex
environment (Awasthi, and et. al., 2019).
Marketing: A business must possess good marketing strategies in the competition which
takes them as market leader. This can be achieved through employing more marketing
channels possible. This helps business to be according to the market trend.
Leadership: The management of a business is the backbone or any organization. In this
complex and dynamic environment the strong and passionate leaders can help business to
achieve success.

attributes helps organization to achieve success. Also the quick decision making skills and the
data analysation skills of the management in the organization helps companies to react to the
complex and changing environment effectively.
