Background and Project problems
The company is in the food industry sector, it’s a hotel and a restaurant where customers eat
at the premise and food packaging is done for those who want to take away their meals. Also,
the company is involved in the delivery of food to those who cannot reach the restaurant.
Every other thing, like serving the customers in the restaurant, the transaction system,
purchasing of the food items to be used, and food packaging, works as desired. The
company’s involvement in the food delivery has received some challenges. Involving the
security of our personnel delivering food, networking system, government policies, logistical
issues, unreliable delivery mechanism (this is the issue of the staff employed to deliver food)
and inefficiencies in coping with the volumes of deliveries. These problems are a thorn in the
flesh for the company’s progress and they need to receive the urgency and seriousness in
addressing them. That is why the projects is pertinent to tackle and to offer solutions that will
change the business’ projection and give it a competitive advantage as far as consumer
satisfaction is concerned, especially in food delivery which is proving to be problematic.
Expected Outcomes
The project intends to look at the projects intricately talking about how they are a problem
and how they affect the operations of the company. Generally offering solutions to these
problems one by one. Some of the solutions there may have to be applied are: designing a
schedule for food delivery in terms of assigning the employees on the specific routes. Dealing
with the growing demand has to be tackled by the efficiency in delivery. We expect to look at
the different modes of transports that are available and if not increase the efficiency, then use
different modes, especially knowing that motorbikes can beat traffic jams easily. The
networking platforms, like the online ordering, can pose a challenge especially with
unpredictable power outages and therefore loss of internet connectivity (Bleyl , 2016). At the
end of this paper, we shall develop a mode that uses Global System for Mobile
Communication (GSM) technology (Unuth, 2019). This will not only increase our contact,
but also make us accessible to people, so that we shall develop a short-code sms, that let
people make their orders seamlessly (Hanz, 2017). This will mean that the computer system
and the network base shall be advanced, and make use of the latest technology. Another issue
that this project somewhat will tend to bring to rest, is insecurity. Insecurity is a thorny issue
especially when it comes to delivering food to people’s domiciles (Wasserstrom, 2018). Here,
again technological advancements will have to be revisited, in terms of having the various

modes of transportations tracked. At the end of the project, we tend to have tracking system
that will be able to track the employees sent to deliver food to the clients in their respective
homes. This also will help in responding to clients who would ask how much time it will take
before they get served by us.
Expected benefits
After the project is done, generally, the business will improve the business in terms of
increase of customer confidence. The customers will get to acknowledge the business as a
dependable place to deliver on their promises. The employees will have confidence working
for the company, especially while delivering in people’s homes. With the system that will
connect even with the GSM systemthe employees involved in deliveries will be confident
that they are being traced and that any press of a panic button on the mode of transportation,
can trigger or prompt help. With the mode of communication improved to even include the
shot code text and a prompt response from unstructured supplementary service data (USSD)
(Hanouch, 2015), one is able to order even when they are offline. It doesn’t matter whether
one has an app or is online, your mobile phone is enough. Last but not least, the environment
will be kept clean, since our packaging will include packaging from containers from the
company, where the food is delivered and the package is brought back by the delivery person.
Project Plan
First is carrying out the survey to see how many people are affected by these issues. Having
consultations moment by moments with the key stake holders and the professionals in
implementing the project. The data gathered shall be analysed and we shall have another
meeting with the professionals to see the checks and balances, this shall take around two to
three days. Another meeting will be to evaluate options that do exist in solving the various
problems, and since this shall involve travelling, it might take around a week. The next stage
after choosing the appropriate design, or the gadgets that works for us (must be user friendly),
implantation of a prototype and various software for programming shall take another week.
The next stage is testing, where the design is put to test and this takes just a day. If the
prototype works well, the full installation of other devices goes on if not, other options are
explored and if errors are made, we shall listen to recommendations from the professionals.
This shall be done until the best option is obtained that will work for us without any issue.

Methodology
We shall see the best method to adopt specially to collect, and evaluate the data, also the best
device we shall use to reach out to people.
Analysis
Here we are particularly talking about solving the problems concerning delivery to the
customers, since the company has been having issues in this sector. The key area where
analysis is required is solving the security issue and reaching out to customers. So, the first
product is the tracking devices, where the tracking device must be linked to a panic button,
and connected to a GSM system, which can reach the security personnel at their phones. The
panic button and the tracking devices must be durable and be installed at a place not
accessible to anyone (tracking device). The panic button can be installed even at the
dashboard and the two must be linked to each other. The durability is since the mode of
transport is out there and there’s a lot of physical movement that could damage it if it is not
durable. The short code system, or the USSD system, must not have a lot of processes, with a
prompt one is able to facilitate a call and they have a conversation, where they can place their
orders custom-made just for them. The USSD code must be very simple and just enough to
initiate a call. This will save time to someone who want to place their order very first and all
the age groups be able to explore this free service.
Solution
The programs shall be developed by the programmers, who shall use their choice, like use of
the programming tools like C, C++, and the rest. The short code is created by the mobile
telephonies in the area, who shall be contacted and shall be furnished by a description
suitable by the company. The tracker system, shall be made by the tracking company of
choice, whom we shall describe the details of what is needed and again what is fit for the
company and the mode of operation. The tracking system shall be linked to the security
company where by pressing the panic button, thrice or more, will raise an alarm and response
will be initiated.
Integration
The system must be incorporated with the existing system, and other employees trained to
work with the system. The security team for instance, have surveillance system and a
communication to the police and other authorities. They have computers in the security room

that monitors the any security concern, closed circuit camera TV (CCTV). The tracking
system that uses the google map, shall be installed in their computers so that alongside the
premise, they are able to also see the delivery team. Also, alongside the app, the USSD code
shall be written there, so that someone may note it down and use it as an alternative.
Costing
The costing shall be done for:
i. The programming and the system upgrade to comply with the features there in
ii. The computers and computer system
iii. The tracking device
iv. The software for the tracking device
v. The payment of the more staff, to monitor the security (especially tracking
system)
vi. The new wrapping techniques that is environmentally friendly (Cameron, 2016)
vii. The new transportation means
viii. The advertisement of the system, very important (adarmymin, 2019)
The constraints shall not be a big problem, since we project that this will eat into a bout 75%
of the company’s profit but since it of a worthy course, we shall go on with it.
Validation
In validation, we will take another survey from the employees and ascertain that they are
confident while out there delivering. The profit margins will be on the assessment, where we
shall be able to see the purchases going up since food delivery is a big boom and can promote
a lot of businesses (Goyal, 2019). the contacts people will make, will show us the ease of use
to our USSD system, the number of trips we make to deliver food, will help us know the
confidence people have in us and our system. From the time the system is rolled out, we shall
give it three months, and see if the system work. This shall be coupled with questionnaires
getting the responses from the customers about the new system
