Issue 1: Identification of sustainability initiatives & Their Authenticity
Sustainability initiatives define the organizational approach, which creates long-term
shareholder value through embracing opportunities and managing risks deriving from economic,
social and environmental development. 4 Pines Brewing Company is capable enough to earn
profitability with increased sales of pine brew (Jamali, El Dirani and Harwood 2015). Moreover,
with increased profitability, the organization is quite capable of providing adequate return on
investment to the shareholders. The employees of this organization get right value and
compensation package as per their contribution in organizational success. Moreover, the
employees feel highly valued in their workplace and they also get flexible communication with
the upper management (4pinesbeer.com.au 2017). The employees get positive working
environment in this organization, which motivates them towards providing best quality effort for
organizational success. Furthermore, 4 Pines Brewing Company also allow employee
volunteering time to the employees for participating the charity programs. It actually enhances
employee value in the organization.
The organization is also involved in arranging charity event for overall community
development. Furthermore, the organization also provides opportunities to every employee for
getting up to 1 x $500 donation matched by 4 Pines. Such donations are to be given to their
chosen charity and the employees also get 1% added annual leaves for volunteering their chosen
charity. 4 Pines Brewing Company is targeted towards waste reduction by 95%
(4pinesbeer.com.au 2017). The organization mostly recycles the organizational waste, which
actually protects the environment. 4 Pines Brewing Company has also become capable of
optimum usage of the water. Moreover, the organization uses 4.66L water per 1L of beer
(4pinesbeer.com.au 2017). However, the organization has no initiative towards enhancing the

greenery of the country. Therefore, it can be considered that the organization has no contribution
in greenery development of the country. Apart from that, the work environment of the
organization is creating huge work pressure on the employees. From the company report, it has
also been found that the organization has less initiative towards saving the energy of the
environment.
Issue 2: Authenticity of Sustainability Initiatives
From the company report, it can be found that 4 Pines Brewing Company provides higher
value to the employees. Moreover, the organization allows volunteering time to the employees
for their chosen charity. However, the median B score of the organization suggest that, the
organization is still not capable of providing adequate worker benefits. Moreover, the
organization does not have genuine effort towards providing sense of ownership to the
employees for their work. The organization also does not have genuine effort towards saving
energy from the production of brew (Bcorporation.com.au 2017). However, genuine efforts can
be seen from the organization in case of optimum usage of the water in the production of brew.
Moreover, the organization has considerably reduced the amount of water usage in the
production of brew.
4 Pines Brewing Company also do not have any genuine effort towards reducing the
emission rate from the production of brew. The sustainable initiative towards emission reduction
seems to be unauthentic for the organization (Bcorporation.com.au 2017). However, the
organization has genuine effort towards waste reduction though recycling and landfill. Apart
from that, the organization provides adequate compensation to the employees as per their
contribution level. However, the organization does not have any career advancement planning

not get proper training and development programs for enhancing their skills and talent level.
However, the organization has involved their genuine efforts towards maintaining transparency
with the shareholders of the organization. Moreover, it shares all true and genuine organizational
information with the shareholders.
