INTRODUCTION
Sustainability plays a vital role in today’s world, as it means the ability to be managed at
a certain rate. Managing sustainability is very important for business organisations. it provides
proper plan that can enhance multiple parts of people who lives in the world. It can also improve
environment, working place and future generations too. If business organisation or any
community sets proper goals then people are more likely to decrease wastage, reduce energy and
also decrease water waste too. For this they need to focus on setting goals which can easily
manage the surrounding areas. the present report will be based on individual reflective on topic
of managing sustainability in professional and personal development.
Reflection
During the module I have learned that managing sustainability is very important,
nowadays, companies are facing many issues related to global challenges and also facing lots of
issues related to climate change and social problems. To deal with such issues, companies are
using sustainability method as it can improve challenge in capitalist economies that can enhance
growth of economic. The selected three areas of the study are CSR, logistics and transport
pollutions and climate change and the global impact.
During the learning module I have learned that manager of sustainability management
analyses the future of the company by developing sustainability in the business (Vinuesa and
et.al., 2020). By having this, managers can easily evaluate its effect on the environment health,
surrounding areas and health of people. I understand that there are majorly three areas of
sustainability such as economic, environmental and social which needs to be taken into
consideration while learning sustainability. Basically sustainability management is very good
nowadays as it creates positive environment and raise equality in the world too. It is very
essential I know because with the help of this business have more positive effect on the
surrounding world. For my future success, I have learned that strong leadership is essential for
developing sustainability. Creative skills and problems solving is one of the major skill one
should have to develop sustainability. I need to develop my ability to identify strategic
opportunities too.
Importance:

Not only this, I have developed my level of understanding about sustainability
management plan even I have made once in my career because it is detailed plan assessment of
proposed design which help me to achieved planning stage. Whenever I think about working at
good position I always focus on developing sustainability. Being a sustainability analyst, people
can use this to use it variety of research techniques so that they can get report for corporate
sustainability programs effectively. By using good plan, I will be able to prioritize things based
on cost, effort and impact, and know about whether it is feasible or not.
Enable companies to connect with customers
Sustainability plays a vital role in the business, not only this it can enable businesses to
make connection with people, and also create a space for corporations as it can engage with the
surrounding world. Nowadays, societies are getting benefit from Corporate social responsibility
such as improve trust of people, enhance their confidence level towards business (Sachs and
et.al. 2019). I have also get detailed information about by using sustainability such as CSR,
wastage removal and follow rules related to it firm can attract more prospect for employee. By
having this I am able to understand that CSR leads to more engage workers. During the session I
have developed my critical thinking skills such as curiosity about knowing more about topic and
how was it contextualized.
Challenges of sustainability – during the sessions, I have learned that sustainability is
not only related to the issues of environment only, it is also related to equity, social problems,
development of economy and so on. However, many people think that challenge of sustainability
is still correlated with the prevention of environment on especially for the future generation. I
have also learned that sustainability concept is new idea created in the business world for
providing support to society.
Zero waste is one of the major challenge due to sustainability adaptation
By learning the module, I have developed my knowledge level about the importance of
sustainability as it protects our natural atmosphere, surrounding environment, human rights,
health of economy and provide protection in order to maintain eco-friendly atmosphere (Silvestre
and Ţîrcă, 2019). Due to zero waste adaptation the business world has been impacted a lot as
they have to make quick decision while implementing things. To be successful they have
maintained integrity in the world which helps them to achieve goals.
Increasing global instability-

due to increase in global instability the world has to face issues such as financial crisis,
political dramas and changing climate conditions. I have developed my knowledge about the
growing insecurity of climate change has shaken the business manager while implementing and
stabilizing any strategy.
CLIMATE CHANGE and CSR
I have learned that sustainability related to environment can be seen when an integrity of
environment is properly maintained in the world. It is essential to maintain environmental
systems which can kept in balance while natural resources within them are consumed by people
(Silvestre and Ţîrcă, 2019).
Global warming due to emissions- the climate change is one of the major issues and is
accelerating the whole global ecosystem by causing harmful phase such as floods, fires, volcanos
etc. due to increase in global warming at extreme level, it is essential for people to mitigate the
climate change by using effective methods such as reducing CO2 emissions.
I have also developed my understanding about CSR- it is highly followed by many
people to maintain and achieve goals related to sustainability. Suring the session my teacher told
me about importance of CSR but also provided me about the significance related to it (Xia and
et.al., 2018). CSR is all about the concept of management whereby organisation integrate social
concerns and ecosystem concerns in their operations of business. By having CSR in business,
they can make interactions with their internal and external stakeholders.
I have learned about the challenges of CSR planning in the world, due to high demand in
the society for disclosure and transparency. With the help of CSR, the business can easily able to
build social capital and create effective bottom line. I understand that business people can avoid
potential pitfalls due to this which can make positive contribution in the world and stakeholders
of business such as customers. At the time of lecture, my teacher provides me with the
assessment related to CSR topic and told me to provide presentation on this topic with the help
of my team mates. During the time of assessment planning, I was too nervous because this was
my first time to provide presentation in front of others. However, with the help of my team mates
I am able to achieve presentation skill success which helped me to build social relationship. With
the help of this learning module I have developed my research skills as group presentation
requires high searching knowledge. Me and my team have decided to distribute task among

people so that it does not create any kind of issues. Among 4 people 2 member were focusing on
CSR and its impacts topic and other focused on climate change and transport pollution.
I have also developed my level of understanding about the key elements that are appear
in plans of CSR. By having CSR, businesses can develop direct employee engagement which
helps them to provide healthy and happy environment (Di Vaio and et.al., 2020). By using CSR
importance learning I have increased positive working conditions at work place. My tutor
provides us training on challenges faced by CSR. The major impacts are it can easily boost
motivation level of people who works for the success of company. By having this plan, I am able
to increase my productivity level which has a positive impact on how profitable I am for the
business or can be profitable for the success of organisation. However, during this session on
CSR, I have asked too many questions to my tutor such as how does CSR affect the business,
what are the positive impact of CSR, what should we do to improve CSR and so on. Due to my
personal nature that is more confusion, I am not able to understand few concepts but my teacher
has always supported me to provide me answer in timely manner. On the impact side, I have
learned that implementation of socially responsible activities results in low impacts on the
atmosphere through reduction of wastage, lower waste, save raw materials and consumptions of
energy (Fonseca, Domingues and Dima, 2020).
Just because of increasing Air pollution in the world, people are facing lots of issues and
90% of them have suffered disease such asthma, illness related to respiratory. I have understood
that many people have seen worst faced related to pollution. My tutor gives me details about
estimation made on humanity breathes polluted air is 90%. Which is quite high as per my
opinion, This is the major reason behind sustainability is essential as it can decrease air pollution
and reduce the chemicals use (Xia and et.al., 2018). By having sustainability in the world,
treating of waste water can be taken into consideration. Water contamination also cause many
health issues which has created pressure on business world to more focus on the sustainability.
By using Kolb model of reflection, I have learned about my experience related to
sustainability (Kolb’s four stages of learning, 2022). with the help of Kolb reflective cycle I am
able to use it as a basis for the structure of a reflective practice during my learning course as a
way to structure my high level of thinking. By having this model, while learning in the class I
have developed the knowledge related to four stage such as concrete experience as with this I can
easily express my feeling related to my learning experience. after that reflective observation I am

able to watch and after that think critically by having another stage that is abstract
conceptualization. Lastly, active experimentation helps me to do something and learning
effectively with the knowledge I gained.
As we all know that learning preference of learners are observed in a traditional
classroom where teachers come to provide lectures on particular topic setting by engaging with
students in the group discussion. I have learned that students can improve their reflection pattern
on their learning by using Kolb reflective modal. By having this model, I am able to create a
variety of learning experience so that I can reach my goals related to sustainability. Exposing
people to a variety of learning experience can help them become more effective while learning
and improve their adaptability skills (Mio, Panfilo and Blundo, 2020). I have improved my
adaptability skill while having this model as reflection in order to underrated the important of
CSR in the world I am positively learning how to be versatile learner. This session has provided
me a great opportunity to develop my expressing skills as I am not able to provide my experience
details in front of others in my previous years. By having kolb model, a classroom lecture related
to CSR and climate change may be an abstract experience, but I think it is also a concrete one.
For example- when a student admires the tutor. In the same way a student may work very hard to
enhance an abstract technique in order to make sense of an experience.
Supply chain and transportation pollutions
Supply chain is really important in today’s business world as it helps people to get things
delivered on time (Nunes, Causer and Ciolkosz, 2020). To be successful, it is essential to
improve supply chain as many new players in the market are using effective supply chain
method, however, it can be more challenging if not provided proper method while
implementation of supply chain. I have developed the understanding about supply chain and
transportations pollution. As we all know countries like US are experiencing an opening of our
economies to emerging, developing and new markets. With the help of effective supply chains
and logistics and increasing demand of new advanced technologies businesses has developed
sustainability (Craighead and et.al., 2020). It is essential to know about supply chain
sustainability because materials, transportation capacity, methods of manufacturing, channels
and policies related to trade are accelerating the commerce of globalization. I have learned that
manufacturing of US has been increasing which totally relies upon various types of sources and
transportation technique. But for business it is necessary to follow polices and rules related

sustainability other they can face issues such as low productivity, low performance of
employees, low market position, heavy competition, lack of knowledge etc. my teacher told me
about information of freight transportation as it is a large contributor to air pollution as compared
to other sector. Producing goods in the market means transportation over very longer distances in
the world, that also means that more consumption of fuel in the world (Nunes, Causer and
Ciolkosz, 2020). By following supply chain management and rules related to sustainability the
companies can easily lower down the air pollution and deal with challenges related to
environmental aspects.
Any harmful change in the environment and surrounding area can cause air pollution which
leads to more smog in the climate, poor air quality, increasing health issues and negative impacts
on societies wellbeing (Craighead and et.al., 2020). After the completion of lecture, my teacher
told me about importance of transportation in the world. And also asked me to provide open
communication and group discussion with team mates. I was very confident while providing
discussion on topic but after the completion of group discussion I am able to know that I need to
develop self-criticism skill. By using Gibbs model I am able reflect on my learning and
experience that I have gained from module discussion. At that time, I was feeling quite
uncomfortable because I was so engaged in self-evaluation that results in feelings of
worthlessness even though I have achieved goals I always think I need to do more
improvements. To improve this, I am focusing on online classes and attending seminar and
workshops which has helped me a lot for the success assessment. By having proper professional
development plan and action plan, I am able to develop my areas of weaknesses which I have
already discussed. Plus, by using benchmark and KPIs method I am able to keep track on my
success and educational progress too.
CONCLUSION
To conclude, self-reflection is very important for people especially students who wants to
achieve something in life. Self-reflection enable me to move from just experiencing into high
level of understanding about strengths and weaknesses. By evaluating the report it has been
conclude that with the of Kolb and Gibbs model of reflection I am able to reflect upon things I
have learned during the module on the topic of CSR, sustainability, management of supply chain
managing sustainability for environmental support etc. by using sustainability methods such as

CSR, effective distribution channels, supply chain management the business community can
easily reduce the risks we will be facing in future or faced now also from air pollution and effects
on health cause by transportation services.
