A policy that inculcates the need to meet the present needs of humans, without compromising or
affecting the requirements of future generation is known as Sustainability Policy. The aim of this
policy is to preserve the nature by plummeting waste, minimizing consumption, and protecting
the environment.
It is important for every organization big or small to make a sustainability policy to reduce the
wastage that incurs in the day-to-day activities of the business. The role of a mortgage broker is
to act as an intermediary between the borrower and the lender. The broker does the necessary
paperwork for the owner of the loan funds.
There are different types of services that are being provided. It is unprecedented that how these
services will impact the environment. There are several resources that are being exploited to
provide services to the consumers and this gives rise to scarcity of resources (Hue, 2015).
Henceforth the need of scarcity arises. Since the nature of the business includes a lot of paper-
work, the resultant impact on the environment.
To develop and frame a policy, it is important that the environmental areas that are being
affected due to the business should be primarily recognized. The main areas that require focus
for the sustainability policy are governance and planning, compliance and effect of communities.
The need of the hour is to make strategic plans that that will guide in making operational plans
regarding the areas curtailed under the business activities- such as Technology, product designs
and etc.
Mission
The aim of the policy is to transform our work environment to cater the needs of the
environment. Knowingly or unknowingly, we tend to harm the environment by our actions. It is
our duty to provide sustainability and commit our duties to the world.
The stakeholders of the firm are the most vital components that are the head of the policy. The
process of formation of policy has to go through their consideration. They are the key persons
who are responsible in the framing of the policy. The sustainable policy inculcates strategies that
are very relevant to the employees as well and it can be exercised in the day-to-day life. Certain
aspects of the plan are:
Minimize the use of toxic material that are used in the printing machines. The ink that is
used for the machines are very hazardous and are made up of chemicals.
The employees should use very less papers, they can re-use the unused papers for non-
official work (Kassinis, et.al., 2016).
The firm should focus on reducing its costs that are incurred on something that is non-
degradable.
The stationary used in the firm should also be limited and it should be ensured that they is
proper re-use.

The organization is committed towards providing its best to reserve the nature and the same is
reflected on the policies of the firm. The sustainable actions is one of the integral part of the
organizational Policy. There are certain methods that are applicable for the implementation,
outcomes and the performance indicators.
Implementation
All the employees will be fined if they use excessive papers or will waste the papers for
unofficial work.
The technological waste needs to be reduced (Gómez-Baggethun and Naredo, 2015).
Constant checks will be implemented on the use of electricity in the office.
The employees need not travel to work for short amount of period, this way they can save
their share of oil.
The policy focus on saving every aspect that is related to the environment and is affecting the
environment in any possible manner.
The important points of the policy needs to be communicated to the employees. This is to make
them aware of the steps that they are supposed to follow to carry forward the policy efficiently.
The methods of communication that are used to deliver the policy are:
Pamphlet of Policies.
Points to be pinned on the Notice Board.
It is to be told to the employees once a week.
The employees will be assigned responsibilities that they will have to comply with and make
sure that the policy is being implemented with seriousness. The policy is just not restricted to the
paper, but the effects will be recorded and compared with the current situation.
Motivation amongst the Employees
To develop motivation amongst the employees for the success of the policies, rewards will be
provided to the employees and this will help them in boosting their morale and will inject
enthusiasm in them.
Identifying Trends
Another important aspect of the organization is to identify the trends that have been previously
attained by similar nature of firms. These trends will indicate the steps that were taken to
conserve the environment and save energy. This will enhance the policy with new ideas for
environment conservation (Eales and Sheats, 2015).

Recording Systems
The employees who were given responsibility to monitor certain areas, will be asked to record
the performance of the systems for tracking the improvements in the policy. It will give a view of
how the policy has impacted and if it is effective in meeting the desired goal or not. The
employees will provide detailed data of the previous figure and the current figures for
comparison.
Documentation
The results are supposed to be documented and should be further used for feedback. This will
improve the methods that were applied in the policy. This documented data is then provided to
the stakeholders so that they can review the steps taken and their performance. They will be
asked to provide relevant feedbacks and also suggest new things.
Monitoring
After the tests, the results should be monitored so that every person contributes towards the
fulfilment of the policy. The aim of monitoring is to provide remedial actions to the steps taken
that backfired or did not perform so well. The remedial steps are required for further
improvement in the policy and this is very important for framing and achieving a certain
sustainable policy that is extremely effective (Hue, 2015).
Modification
The last step is to modify the policy according to the steps mentioned. This will bring changes in
the policy.
