Sustainable Environment: Issues and Solutions from the Perspective of Facility Managers
Abstract
The current debate on the sustainability of the atmosphere does not necessarily mean on
the omission of the carbon but it also applies to sustainable development and the environment.
This articles majorly delineate on the mitigations and plans that can be used by some of the
managers to reduce some of the challenges that normally face the environment and focuses on
some of the possible solutions.
Introduction
Recently, environment preservation has become a problem both locally and
internationally. Many scientists for many years pondered on the best way to curb the
environmental issues. However, just recently media come up with some of the problems that
normally face environment. These include; deforestation, global warming, greenhouse effects,
and many some of the problems which are hazardous to the environment (Epstein, 2018). Many
countries have taken initiative to conserve the environment by advocating for the policy which
aims at reducing pollutions and some of the things which may be harmful to the environment.
The aims of this article will focus on the issues which affect the environment and some of the
possible solutions.
Problems of Environmental pollutions
Environmental pollutions and degradations have inflicted more pain and worries to
everybody. It has become both a national and international problem. Some of these problems are
characterized by flood, fire, earthquake and landslide. These problems spark a lot to most of the

countries and cause harm to the people. For the sustainability of the environment environmental
degradations should be kept constant. Therefore, reducing the environmental problems displays
great impacts on the growth of the sustainable environment development which is quite directly
to the society (Wu, & Pagell, 2011). At a personal level, advocacy for the public participation on
the environmental matters should be of high concerns. However, since we consume raw
materials from the earth and deploy some of the competition for the raw material to meet our
market demand may likely to influence environmental sustainability (Wright, & Wilton, 2012).
To tackle these problems, all people should come out to defend and protect the world heritage by
using some of the innovations and cheap fuels which can be used to preserve the environment
hence the sustainability of the environment. Some of the various problems which normally occur
to the environment like water pollutions and air pollutions adversely affect environmental
sustainability.
Water pollution
Water pollutions are the most fundamental aspects that increase the environment
sustainability. It is caused by pollutions from the old industries which discharge chemical
effluents. It is also evident that water may be polluted by the various external wastes (Wrisberg,
Haes, Triebswetter, & Clift,2012). In order to ensure sustainability of the environment, cautions
should be taken from both the local people and governmental bodies in such a way that may be
used to get rid of industrial waste. Waste materials should be recycled to minimize water
pollutions. To handle these problems, it is not necessary to rely on the government but also the
local people.

 The purpose of the article is to identify some of the key aspects that hinder the
sustainability of the environment.
 What I opted to achieve is to get to know some of the key aspects that can be used to
maintain and preserve the environment. Some of these issues are directly influenced by
the government and personal level. Some of the challenges that do face environment
partly contributed by human activities while some are natural calamities. Some of the
human problems may include, disposals of the waste materials I the river banks,
emissions of the industrials waste into the oceans and lakes (Hwang, & Tan, J2012). This
research would help me know some of the challenges and some of the possible solutions
to the issues that do affect sustainability as a whole. It would also help me to advocates
for some of the aspects which I truly know could better be solved by some of the
individuals without necessarily involving the government for assistance.
 I get to know how this study is quite important on my research since its general issues
revolve in daily life. It also gives me ample time to reflect on how some of the
communities set up approaches regarding matters pertaining the conversations of the
environment and some of the precautions that should be taken in order to preserve the
environment. This issues which normally affects the sustainability of the environment is
not entirely based on government support but it involves everyone support which can
make it more effective. It also makes the reader articulate some of the certain approaches
which can be used by different agencies to solve some of the environmental degradations
(Akkerman, Farahani, & Grunow,2010). Therefore, environmental sustainability study
is one of the international and national issues, which normally offer some of the basic
solutions and appropriate ways of solving natural and artificial calamities worldwide.

Due to such factors, I intend to use it since it will be helpful to readers who are interested
in this articles.

Impacts of the sustainability on the environment:
Water pollution– this is the most arguably fundamental problems that do affects the
environment. This may cause by the waters from the industries, oceans piles and acid rains.it is
also affected by wastes materials which are randomly being thrown in the lakes and some of the
ponds beside lakes. This greatly affects living things which do depend on water.

Involvement of the public participation.
To put an end of the problems, which is facing the sustainability of the environment,
facilitators should come up with a mechanism that involves everyone in mid of seeking to end
some of the challenges that face environmental conservations (Lord,& Washington, 2018). They
should ensure participation from the public as a way of solving the problems. Since some of the
issues appeared to be quite similar, several stakeholders should involve in environmental impacts
assessment, which should entirely consist of the local people in the government agencies.
However, since the public participation is essential in the findings of the preliminary assessment
process, they can be useful in the gathering of the information and some of the required
precautions against matters like throwing off the litters on the waters and burning of the charcoal.
Emphasize environmental protection programs as a reactive solution
Through public notice and several campaigns on the importance useless reactive
substance and disposal that make it easier to decompose, may end the crisis of the environmental
problems (Kramers, Höjer, Lövehagen, & Wangel, 2014). Through local level, may work better
than if done by the government way of using enforcement. Manufacturing Companies should
make some of the materials, which of no use to decompose easily or that can be recycled not to
dirty the environment (Smith, 2014).
Conclusion
To conclude, engineers, governmental bodies should come up with the correct procedure
of sitting of the industries so that they should not pollute the environment.in addition, facility
managers, building designers and several agencies that have great concerns on the environment
should provide a suitable way of building so that they don't interfere with the preservation of the

water or they don't site the industries on the places which can pollute water. Engineers should be
trained on the matters regarding constructions along the riparian places to reduce water and air
pollution. As it is outlined by this articles, some of the effects that do affect the environment and
some of the immediate solutions which should be taken to curb the problems.
