of campus and community in the environment. The main link which are associated with supply
chain management and sustainability is relatable. Supply chain management is the one which are
highly relatable for the growth of company and make sustainable approaches for using success
growth in market (Busse, Meinlschmidt and Foerstl, 2017). So the term of sustainability is an
important aspect of hotel industry. The chosen hospitality industry hotel for this case study is
Park Plaza Westminster Bride, set up in the south London. They are providing relevant services
and enjoying activities to their customer that are highly applicable for society. The main reason
for choosing this hotel, as to make a research on sustainability and their supply chain
management tools.
Research Rationale
In the situation of covid-19, the hotel industry are faces major crises and issues which is
about the use of enhancing sustainability in their approaches. The rationale reason for reason for
choosing the project is to determine the relation between supply chain management and
sustainability use of hotel in society (Çankaya and Sezen, 2019). The use of supply chain
management is related to their strategies and use of supplier which hotel use from different from
other in order to provide success within the growth and sustainability approaches. The main
issues which are arises by the hotel industry is related to different aspect of covid-19 and the
pandemic impact gives minimising sales, high employees turnover and finding different
outcomes which are relatable and enhancing for hospitality industry.

The major scope for completing this research is beneficial for supplier of hotel who are
work with the management of hotel. All of them are responsible for getting success and use

sustainability within the nature which help the others to promote sustainability within the
specified objective.

goods and services in the hotel industry. This may include the different material and information
which are significant for flow up and down related to supply chain. Supply chain management is
related to different processing, production, schedule and many customer services. All of these
activities are related to different suspect of hotel industry which are relatively related to
sustainability of chosen hotel industry (Dou, Zhu and Sarkis, 2018). It is essential to maintaining
sustainability and supply chain management for future growth of the industry. Sustainability
leads towards future growth, so every business must ensure sustainability in their supply chain
management. It aids in better understanding of environment, social, economic feasibility in

respect of suppliers and consumer. There is a corporate pressure over vendors rather than
government pressure to maintain sustainability. This influence process of manufacturing which
receive raw material for further process and in recycling goods. It also enhance costumer
relationship along with product quality (Giannakis and Papadopoulos, 2016). Potential consumer
become loyal towards brands as they are more attentive of purchased things. Most of the people
prefer that brand who protect and care environment issues. The sustainable supply chain is
expensive in starting but this will provides greater value to potential consumer in long run. By
practising this, industry can decrease expense in long time. This will enhance costumer base and
manufactures. It originates several benefits in the growth of industry. Organisation can

management affect the decision of company and faced different challenges such as:
 Customer service services: The main need of supply chain management is to serve the
best quality to their customer. In hotel, customer are expected to work and manage
everything that is relatable for the growth of hotel industry. This is all about the right
quantity and quality of the hotel's customer and able to provide best sustainable
approaches. After getting an impact of covid-19, hotel park plaza are not able to solve

the customer problems and provide relevant service for filling the loss which they are
occur due to covid-19 impact.
 Costing: At the global level hotel management are having raw material which have high
cost. Raw material, labour and cost everything is related to economical constraints. For
working in continuous operations but continuous production are provided in order to
make economical constraints (Iakovou, Bochtis and Vlachos, 2021). This is the issue
which are majorly face by the park plaza hotel in order to implement the sustainability
approaches while using significant supply-chain management programme.
 Risk management: Another challenges which are facing by the park plaza Westminster
is to make risk management. Due to the constant changes and covid-19 impact the hotel
management staff are not able to manage their risk management team. Further they are
needed to be make sure about external environmental factors which are associated with
sustainability and supply-chain management programme.
 Fast changing market: There are lots of changing environment in the business which

 Establishing energy management programme: The first and foremost strategies used
by the respected hotel is to arrange a programme related to managing activities. and these
activities related to different programme which help their management team to work

“reducing company's energy use by 10% within a quarter”.

 Evaluating energy usage: This is an another way which are uses by the hotel park plaza
in order to implement and sustain their activities for long period of time. They will allow

 Using renewable energy: Besides reducing energy consumption and there evaluation the

completing this research positivism approaches are used as it will help the researcher.
That knowledge which are using is independent and it is more scientific approach as
compare to interpretivisim approach (Montabon, Pagell and Wu, 2016). Interpretivisim
approach claim that the researcher has their own perception and reality. This philosophies
are mainly related for finding the concept of sustainability and searching supply chain
management techniques in hotel industry.
 Approach: After choosing the appropriate research methodology a researcher is
suggested to make significant approach for completing research. There are mainly two

type of research as it is related to deductive and inductive approaches. For completing
this research deductive approach is used as it is related to more specified hypothesis and
mainly based on the literature review which observed by the researcher. Whereas the
inductive approach is used to start new theory by observer. But as this research is based
on old theory so the chosen approach is deductive.
 Research Strategies: The type of strategies is used by the researcher in order to

research, experimental research, interviews, survey and many systematic literature
