Introduction:
The global population is increasing every day and with the increasing population the
crisis of the food is increasing as well. The growing population has led to the shortage of the
space for the agriculture. Thus it is extremely important to enhance the production of food with
the help of the technology and by other means. The sustainable agriculture is the farming
technique by the means of which the demand of the food for the contemporary society can be
met by keeping the entire process intact such that the future generations can meet their demands
as well. In this study we will discuss about certain research that has been conducted in this field
for the development and the enhancement of the sustainable agriculture in different countries
(Altieri 2018).
Overview of data:
According to Mahanty et al., in 2017, Biofertilizers can be used for the purpose of the
sustainable agriculture development in the contemporary world. According to them, the bio
fertilizers are the microorganisms which are used for increasing the nutrients of the host plants.
The bio fertilizers are not only cost effective but also effective in comparison to the chemical

fertilizers as well. This can act as a way of promoting growth of the plant with the help of the
bacteria that are present in this, for example rhizobacteria
As per the paper presented by Altieri, Nicholls and Montalba, (2017), the development of
the agriculture is completely based upon the Agro-ecology. One of the best technology that is
discussed in this research is the China’s usage of the Rice-Fish-Duck system. Here the entire
ecology is dependent upon one another. Here, the pest that rolls the rice leaves are consumed by
the fish which again helps in improving quality of the water by oxygenating and moving
nutrients in it. The Ducks help in consumption of the Alzolla which cover the surface of the
water and prevents eutrophication. Hence all the systems here are interconnected, which benefits
the system without harming the environment.

Summary:
Thus from the above discussion it can be concluded that the need of the food and clean
water is one of the chief concern of the ever increasing population of the globe. With the growth
of the population, the space for the agro-based activities have reduced as well. In this scenario,
the usage of the bio-fertilizers and certain technologies can help in the development of the
sustainable agriculture with the usage of which, the environment will not be affected and the
production of the food and edible items will grow considerably.
