In this article, the policies associated with sustainable agriculture and the merits and
demerits of the mentioned polices are analyzed. With the enhancement in population, the
demand for food is increasing. The wealthy population is gaining the ability to buy more variety
of edible resources. The competition for land, energy, and water is increasing globally. Increased
demand or food is resulting in damage of the environment due to unsustainable farming
procedures. In order to prevent these issues, farmers can adapt the ‘Sustainable Intensification
approach’ which can be defined as policy goal for increasing yields, chiefly of arable crops, in
the face of resource scarcity and environmental challenges.
