Introduction
The total impact assessment factor that is associated with an aviation process plays important
role in idealizing the growth and progress across its operational dimensions. Since, the aviation
industry is a major support to national economy and plays an important role in processing
development across the various other sectors, its sustainable operation is largely evident in
promoting better social standards for a country as a whole. Especially, in context of an aviation
industry which is still in its flourishing state like China’s general aviation industry adequate
national policies are put into place for managing sustainability aspects. Airports on the other
hand have a series of operations which are linked to provide a defined range of operations for
facilitating sustainability in to integrated efforts all across the provided segments. A series of
researches have concluded that the Beijing capital international airport has been evident in order
to facilitate a sustainable development across its operational dimensions and has enormous
opportunities to limit this further (Scmp.com, 2019).
Impacts of sustainable aviation
The enhanced focus on generating sustainable process outcomes for different sections of
operations at the Beijing capital international airport have led to the development of a mixed
intervention for both positive as well as negative impacts. However, most of the aspects seem to
be favorable and supportive, there are segments which provide a distinctive approach to this
sustainability (Xiong et al. 2018). The sustainable approaches for water consumption has led to a
drastic fall in the per capita water requirement at the airport. Between the years 2012 and 2015, a
significant reduction of 10.6% has been reported in the per capita water consumption across the
airport operations (Wang et al. 2016). In addition to this, the fact that Beijing capital
international airport is the only airport to operate in accordance with the available UN
sustainability segments provides it additional support and cooperation from the available
customer base. In addition to this, the sustainability aspects related to wastewater treatment and
indoor air quality are significantly up to the national mark which is a highly important
achievement. In terms of airport carbon accreditation scheme, the Beijing capital international
airport has improvised its renewable electricity sources and applied sufficient measures for
limiting the electricity waste across different set of operations (Weiszer et al. 2015). The overall

operability and cost specifications through these processes have increased the scale of
development and also helped in generating sufficient awareness over this major possibility.
There are no such disadvantages related to application of sustainable processes in wider context.
However, an increment in the operational costing for the required changes are an evident
disadvantage. Factors such as harnessing renewable energy resources require the availability of a
more expensive infrastructure which is a burden in the initial phases of operation. The
application of effective sustainable processes require a more ideal way to encourage availability
of competent staffing. This requires sufficient training and development opportunities for the
available workforce (Cambridge.org, 2019). It is another major segment for increasing the
overall operational costs which are associated with the organization.
Advances in state of art
The state of art developments for Beijing capital international airport included airport’s main
construction, interlinked expressways, aviation oil facilities, air traffic control and high speed
railways. All of these operations are interlinked with providing sustainable approaches for
managing the drastically growing air traffic across the dimensions (Su et al. 2019). Since the
construction process is aimed to function as world’s largest transportation hub, there are
operations integrated with assessment of suitable liabilities across the defined sections. The high
speed trains related to this product are liable to facilitate an ease in movement of passengers from
around 28 nearby cities within a time frame of three hours. In order to minimize the
environmental footprints, an unusual design comprising of a single passenger landing area is
taken in to consideration with reference to the airport carbon accreditation scheme (Ferrulli,
2016). This design is capable of driving huge economic growth for the southern suburbs and
transform it in to a super city. In addition to this, the availability of sufficient corridors for flight
landing can be evident in order to justify the growth potential across the selected channels of
passenger and cargo movements. In addition to the available lounges and modern waiting
structures for the passengers, the newly developed airport facility is having five traditionally
styled gardens for passenger’s waiting possibilities. This factor is highly helpful in limiting the
environment degradation aspects for the airport operations and is capable of driving a better
approach for including environmental sustainability. The usability index which is associated with

an organization among these possibilities are extremely helpful in terms of driving growth and
success in the provided span of time (Bijjahalli et al. 2017).
Benefits and challenges
Considered as the economic locomotive for the country, the developments under Beijing capital
international airport have been largely in to providing a supportive framework for long term
developments of the country. The developments in aviation sector impact growth directly, as it is
one of the most conventional sources for moving goods as well as services across different
regions. The overall operability index which is integrated with assessment and control over
economic operations are supported by the high end usability index which is related with the
process (Liao et al. 2019). A well connected and efficient rail route for an effective
transportation is also liable to support the integrated developments across the defined
perspectives. It is a major process for turning the farmlands to a more organized and global city
which is in many ways helpful for the economic growth. The differentiability in operational
designs are interlinked to produce a much more strengthen the scopes of development all across
the airport carbon accreditation scheme (Baxter et al. 2015). Huge amount of travelers
approaching this airport are liable to justify many business possibilities across the region. It can
frame the operational developments for integrating a better reform across the selected formats of
revenue production. This shifting of growth potential from the mainland Chinese territories to
this poorer suburbs can have a drastic impact over the accountable possibilities all along the
provided frameworks. There are some significant approaches for providing a more suitable
understanding all along the selected process growth. There are significant developments lined up
with changes in the development patterns across the possible fragments through national policies
(Koç and Durmaz, 2015).
However, there are certain issues which come handy with the chosen development process across
this particular segment. The availability of significant economic reforms based on market
analytics. In addition to this, the increase in infrastructural development as a possible means for
growth ideology is a much overrated development factor which is associated with these
developments. Apart from these, the high end dominance of military in the Chinese airspace is
another major factor which is associated with the ongoing issues in terms of airport and flight
management systems in China. The investments made under this project are highly ambitious

and based on analysis but if things don’t go as expected, there can some important financial
issues arising with the high end investment put together for this project (Vurmaz and
Boyacioglu, 2018).
Conclusion and recommendation
In order to conclude, it can be said that the overall growth potential associated with the Beijing
capital international airport and its newly developed progressive projects are quite sustainable
and based on specified analysis. There are some high end expectations for both the particular
region as well as the country with application of these projects. The operability index is also
linked to promote a more suitable conditions for the international aviation industry
transformations. It can be the new hub for global aviation industry. The advanced applications
under state of art possibility is liable to promote a more significant approach with integrated
infrastructure and construction designs which are significantly sustainable and in consideration
with national policies. The process is supported by a series of possibilities in context of
practicing environmental friendly attributes are also explained in this assessment. Both negative
as well as positive perspectives are incorporated to develop a more sustainable understanding
over the concerned subject. A set of compatible recommendations are also provided in order to
support the entire process eventually.
Recommendations
Application of efficient noise, emissions and land usage pattern can help limit the
chances of sustainable energy consumption for the airport operations.
Development of sufficient awareness for the involved staffs and crew members for
enabling first-hand practices of sustainable development.
Applying adequate strategies for achieving uniform standard, regulation and procedure
for operating under the aviation industry (Baxter et al. 2018).
Development of a community satisfying condition across the operational dimensions of
the airport through managing national policies accordingly.
Making the airport operations more suitable for future and integrating its operational
dimensions across the provided set of regulations based on international and national
policies (Lv et al. 2017).
