To identify the effectiveness of sustainability in constructing buildings in Australia
RESEARCH OVERVIEW AND JUSTIFICATION
Sustainable building is defined as such building those are associated with using such
renewable and recyclable material within building structure so that energy consumption can be
minimised and at the same time wastages can also be minimised. The primal goal of sustainable
building is to reduce the impact over the environment so that long edged life can be given to
environment (Schroeder, 2016). This reduces the building’s impact over the environment by
which efficiency of various aspects such as material, water and energy can be enhanced. This
also helps the building to reduce negative impact over human health during life cycle of
building. These are made with better designs, sitting, maintenance and operations so that their
life cycle is more than any ordinary building. Sustainable buildings are interpreted in different
manner in which they are operated and designed in such a way that overall impact over the
environment can be prevented. In this manner these are the buildings which are designed in
such a manner that this will cover positive aspects for the environment and built the
environment in positive manner. Similarly, in sustainable building human health is also admired
and this will reduce degradation of pollution, waste and many other natural resources. On the
other hand, the another characteristics of sustainable building is associated with water
efficiency as these buildings are made in such a way that these would provide superior indoor
environment so that this would lead into unnecessary energy and water usage (Ginzburg, 2016).
In the construction of building, pollution is the major determinant which helps the buildings to
maximise their protection against environment. The current research is based on sustainable
buildings and their role over the environment and their role in making sustainable environment.
METHODOLOGY: DESCRIBE THE PROPOSED STRATEGY
The current research is associated with using various research methods in order to
assemble and analysing the information so that to acquire aims and objectives within research.
This is analysed that with the help of such research methods this will be easier for researcher to

create path for attaining aims and objectives within research. Under this research, positivism
research philosophy will be used as this is aligned with various principles and beliefs which are
helpful in analysing information (Kumar, 2018). The current research is related with numerical
information so that using positivism research philosophy evaluation can be rendered in
appropriate manner. On the other hand, in the current research deductive research approach will
be followed as this will provide the researcher to focus on generalised aspects. This will
develop the research in such a way that numeric data can be analysed by researcher in early
manner. This is associated with examining such aspects which may lead into attaining aims and
objectives within research so that path for researcher can be made easier. Under this research,
survey research strategy will be used as under this research strategy participants can be
approached in direct manner so that cliché can be avoided. Similarly this research is using
research choice so that gather information related with research topic. With the help of research
choice significant information can be gathered related with research topic so that objectives
within research can be attained in prominent manner. There are two types of research choice
such as quantitative and qualitative that can be used within research in order to acquire research
objective. Under this research quantitative research choice will be used as this is aligned with
gaining statistical and accurate results (Igwenagu, 2016). So that with the help of quantitative
research the researcher may attain overall aim and objectives within research. Data collection is
regarded as one of the prominent research methodology which is helpful in collecting data in
such a way that accurate information related with research can be acquired. In this manner there
are two methods of data collection such as primary and secondary. Under primary methods
first-hand information can be gathered and this is helpful in gaining accurate views within
research. Similarly, sampling is the method which is used in order to select number of
respondents those opinion can be used within research in order to attain research objectives.
Under this research random sampling is followed so that to give equal opportunities of selection
to every individual. Under the research 20 builders are selected from construction industry of
Australia so that to gather primary information using questionnaire. At last time horizon is
defined as the needed time by the researcher in order to complete the research and to acquire
research objectives as well. In this research cross-sectional time-horizon is followed as this
covers multi-dimensions within the research.

DATA ANALYSIS: DESCRIBE THE PROPOSED ANALYSIS STRATEGY

This research is related with developing information related with sustainable buildings
and their impact over the environment. The research is executed in quantitative manner which
means that the research is going to undertake several statistical tools in order to accomplish its
aim and objectives (Yandell, 2017). Under the research survey research strategy is used which
is helpful in obtaining accurate and relatable results. This is analysed that quantitative research
methods are helpful in obtaining clear results so that to research can be executed in the path to
acquire its aims and objectives. The research is using survey strategy which means that it would
include opinion of various respondents to examine their views and opinion so that the
information can be used in attaining research objectives in clear manner.
RESULTS: AN INDICATION OF WHAT RESULTS ARE EXPECTED
The research is associated with examining the impact of sustainable building on
environment and such positive aspects which are seen by the nature after the emerging concept
of sustainable building (Schabenberger and Gotway, 2017). The result is expected to provide
results in such a manner that it would provide information related with positive aspects linked
with sustainable building and their role in developing the environment and natural resources as
well. The research report will also explain that how sustainable buildings are saving the nature
and trying to use natural resources in optimal manner so that negative impact can be eradicated
and long life can be given to natural resources. The research is also expected with the result
linked with the manner in which concept of green and sustainable building can be promoted in
order to develop the environment and to protect the same for long duration.
ETHICAL ISSUES
Ethical issues are defined as such challenges those are related with ethical integrity and
have direct impact over aim and objective of the research. The major ethical issue within the
research is related with voluntary participation in research which means that respondents are
supposed to be included in the research out of their consent so that to develop research in
appropriate manner (Rees, 2020). This is one of the major ethical issues which is having their

relation with research path and this is required to be eliminated by obtaining informed consent.
On the other hand another issue is related with maintaining confidentiality within research as
respondents are not willing to disclose their identity at the time of giving their opinion.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE RESEARCH OF THE PROJECT
The current research is significantly important as this is associated with acquiring
information regarding sustainable buildings using quantitative research methods. This is
analysed that in current time sustainable building are earning higher prominence as these are
saving the environment to face any negative aspects due to infrastructural development. During
the current time as countries are inhaling higher economic development and for this
development of infrastructure is required. In the context of infrastructural development
environment is facing severe issues in relation to its deployment. With the help of sustainable
building this could be easier for the construction industry to grow their business and save
environment as well (Leoto and Lizarralde, 2019). This investigation helps in recognising the
importance of sustainable building from the view point of chosen respondents. Under the
research it is analysed that how many respondents are having inclined opinion related to
construction of green and sustainable buildings within region of Australia. The report has also
examined various challenges in context to sustainable buildings which are faced by the
construction industry and builders in Australia. Hence the current investigation is keeping
higher significance for builders and people with construction industry in Australia as this will
give them information related with their field and manner in which they can sharpen the same.
