Introduction
Sustainability is one of the prime factors be looked after in the recent time due to the
reason that maintaining the same standard of living with the scarce resources is getting difficult
with that. In this case, initiation of the concept of the sustainability is the most effective in
mitigating challenge. In addition, this should also be noted that engineering management is the
stream, which should be in the front position to initiate the sustainable practices due to the fact
that engineering management can help in effective planning mechanism of the management
along with the problem solving abilities of engineering. There are number of effective
sustainable engineering management practices that can be initiated by the engineering managers
to achieve sustainability. This is important for them due to the reason that achieving
sustainability will ensure that managers will have more effectiveness in the long term. However,
on the other hand, it should be also be noted that different authors have given different views
regarding the practices to be initiated by the engineering managers in achieving the business
sustainability. This report will discuss about the different views being given by the authors
regarding the practices to be followed by the engineering managers. The annotated bibliography
will be done based on different journal articles and conclusion will be drawn accordingly.

part of the contemporary business organizations. Majority of the contemporary business
organizations are having larger poor smaller scale of enterprise resource planning. Thus,
according to the authors, if sustainability can be maintained in designing the enterprise resource
planning then it will have the larger effectiveness. In this selected journal, the authors have stated
about the ineffectiveness of the previous studies in researching about the sustainable enterprise
resource planning. This is due to the reason that previous researches are only focused on the
empirical analysis. In this journal, the authors have discussed about the master plan for the
implementation of the sustainable enterprise resource planning system in place. This master plan
can help the engineering managers in initiating the sustainable enterprise resource planning in
the workplace.
There are number of organizations already initiated sustainable enterprise resource
planning system, which is helping in initiating the holistic process of sustainability in the
process. It should be noted that initiation the sustainable practices in the enterprise resource
planning will help the business organizations in covering the major organizational sections and

framework for dealing with the challenges and barriers in following the sustainable development
goals. Thus, this framework will be beneficial for the engineering managers in following the

stated that identification of the challenges of the sustainable development goals is also important

From the above analysis, it is identified that there are number of approaches that can be
initiated by the engineer managers in achieving the sustainability. One of the major identified
practices is implementing the sustainable enterprise resource planning process. This will help

them in having the sustainable approach of the core process of the organization. In the above
discussion, the master plan to be followed in implementing the sustainable resource planning
process is being stated and this will help the engineering managers in having the basic idea about
it. Another practice that can be initiated by them is the taking the sustainable development goals
as the guidance. This is due to the reason that there are few challenges and complexities may be
faced by them in initiating sustainability and thus following the sustainable development goals
will help them in having the guidance about what and how to achieve sustainability. It is also
suggested to the engineer managers that they should review the other existing sustainable
activities that will help them in having the understanding about how the things are being done
and what are their weaknesses. These practices can help them in achieving the sustainability in
the organization.
Conclusion
Thus it can be concluded that there are number of approaches that can be followed by the
engineer managers in achieving the sustainability in their business process. In this report,
different articles regarding sustainability are being selected and these are being further evaluated.
All of these articles are being taken from the peer reviewed journals and thus it can be concluded
that all the information being used are authentic and reliable. Evaluation of these articles helped
in identifying the diverse views stated by the authors. Some of the views are being suggested for
the engineering managers in achieving the sustainability. However, in evaluating the views of the
authors, it is also identified that they are diverse and different from each one and each of the
authors are focusing on different elements. Some of the authors are more focused on identifying
the key challenges in implementing the sustainable business practices while some others are
more concerned with reviewing the existing sustainable initiatives taken by other stakeholders.
