Report
AI Summary
This report delves into the critical aspects of engineering management for a sustainable future. It begins by reflecting on the concept of sustainable development, emphasizing the importance of preserving resources for future generations and the ethical considerations of resource utilization, including the responsible use of fossil fuels. The report also explores environmental ethics in engineering, highlighting the shift from purely technical solutions to considering ethical and social impacts. It discusses the codes of engineering ethics, which mandate engineers to prioritize public safety, maintain professional honesty, and avoid conflicts of interest. The report references several scholarly articles that support the ideas and concepts discussed. The report emphasizes the need for engineers to be mindful of their ethical responsibilities and the impact of their decisions on the environment and society.

ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE FUTURE 3
Reflective on Engineering sustainability
The engineering management in the sustainable development is basically described as the
improvement in the quality of life of the present or the current generation without putting any
harm on the future generation. we need to understand that it is very wrong to use up all the
resources of the next generation because if we already use up all the resources of the next
generation then the next generation will not have any resources to use for themselves. Such as
we should a less amount of the non-renewable energy resources such as coal, iron ore and
titanium (Rosen, 2012). There are certain resources which our past generations have used up so
much that we have not been able to use them or also see them. So, we should keep this in mind
while using the resources that we should not make our future generation devoid of any resources
because of our over use of the resources. There is also a high pressure put on the fossil fuels
because people are also using the fossil fuels a lot and it has also been predicted that there are
certain fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas and coal will get run out within 100 years if those are
used at this rate.
Reflective on Environmental ethics on engineers
In the past years the engineers generally used to implement the technical solutions to the
problems that are being faced by the other people and they never used to consider the ethical
issues that are related to the environment and also the social impacts that are required to solve
these problems. But in the present years the ethics has become a major point of concern for the
engineers (Bero& Kuhlman, 2011). Codes of the engineering ethics has been able to identify the
precise precedence with respect to the consideration of the engineers for the clients, employers,
public and also for their profession. There are certain codes of conduct which the engineers must
follow which may include that the engineers must take care of the health and the safety of the

general people while going on with their work (Miloradova&Ishkov, 2015). They must maintain
the safety and never should turn a blink eye to the people while going on with their work. The
engineers while working should work in a professional manner and must maintain their honesty
and should try to avoid all types of conflicts.
