Fleet Farming in Tampa
Fleet farming refers to the program for urban agricultural formed by the United Nations
(UN). This type of farming is done by converting the urban lawns into farms to increase the
capability for local food accessibility. The normal American meal leaves a high carbon footprint
before of consumers. Hence, this is a greener alternative to getting farm produce delivered at the
houses (Fleet Farming Cities, 2019). Fleet harming has been successful in Orlando. Tampa is
another important city of Florida where this kind of farming can be effective. Tampa has both
dense cities and neighbourhoods with efficient spacing for this type of farming. The prospects
for development are good as the people of the city can effectively adapt to eco-farming. The city
can also utilize fleet farming on rooftops in crowded city spaces. Tampa has a very good location
with significant amounts of sunlight, air, water and soil nutrients. Fleet farming prospects can be
increased due to these factors. The residents of Tampa are aware of ecological concerns. This
can help to establish fleet farming more effectively.
Solar Cities and Community Biogas
Solar cities are cities that are greatly or completely powered by solar energy. They reduce
the pressure on conventional sources of energy, which can even be dependent on non-renewable
sources of energy. Homes in solar cities are more ecologically efficient and yet, do not
compromise on utilities. Bio-gas utilization can further boost the prospects for the development
of more solar cities. Bio-gases are produced by a mixture of organic matter without oxygen.
Hence, fertilizes, farm and human wastes and a host of other waste products can be used to
produce Bio-gas. It is an eco-friendly gas that can be used for the community fuel requirements
(Citizenergy | Solar Cities, 2020). Together solar cities and the community bio-gas experience
can help to create completely carbon neutral communities and cities. Bio-gas experiences of
communities have been effective in the past. It has helped in providing alternative fuel solutions
to communities that would otherwise have to rely on more expensive fossil fuels. Through the
utilization of biogas, solar cities can be more energy efficient and even develop more innovative
eco-friendly energy solutions.
Vertical Aeroponics and the Amish
The Amish community are known as a conservative religious community that do not
adapt modern technology. However, in Lancaster, USA the Amish community members have
built a farm facility with virtual aeroponics technique (Amish Farm Leads The Way to Local
Food Security in Indiana, 2013). This technique uses 90% less water and soil to provide the same
amount of produce. Vertical Aeroponics is an eco-friendly farming technique in which plants get
their nourishment from mist that is laden with nutrients. Hence, there is less requirement of water
or soil space. A vertical special chamber is built to hold the plants and small amounts of nutrient
laden water is pumped at periodic intervals. The roots of the plants are sprayed with nutrient
enriched water without having to use any soil. The Amish community has been able to increase

their farm produce manifold due to the usage of this technique. This innovative technique has
blended with the otherwise simplistic farming and lifestyle aspects of the Amish.
