AI Summary
This report, prepared for a BA Business Studies course, investigates the detrimental effects of climate change on businesses globally. It highlights how climate change disrupts supply chains, increases production costs, and poses labor challenges, leading to financial risks and operational difficulties. The report emphasizes the rising frequency of extreme weather events and the threats to various business sectors, including agriculture and transportation. It explores the concept of carbon footprints and their impact, along with the 'transition risk' associated with climate change, encompassing regulatory, technological, and reputational risks. The report provides actionable strategies for businesses to reduce their carbon footprints, such as adopting the 'Reduce, Recycle, Reuse' principles, minimizing plastic use, using sustainable suppliers, and transitioning to renewable energy sources. It concludes by urging organizations to adopt innovative methods for sustainable product manufacturing and emphasizes the collective responsibility of individuals and businesses in environmental conservation.

INTRODUCTION
Climate is the average temperature in the different seasons over a long period of time”,
The universal time given for describing the climate is 30 years by the World Meteorological
organisation(WMO). Changes in the climate is a warning for the environment as it affects most
of the areas of working, it affects the species and other lives(Hiatt, 2020)Climate change means,
the changing in the environment which is constant or moderate for a long period of time such as
changing in the temperature, air pressure due to changes in solar emission or changes in the
Earth's orbit, it would be done naturally or it would be done by the people by various activities to
make the life easier and for their comfort. Changes in the climate is not a good sign for the
environment as it affects all the areas of working sectors especially the agriculture sector. Due to
changes in the climate the earth is facing the global warming, rising level of seas, it affects the
wildlife due to sudden changes in the climate like constant drought, heat storms etc. In this report
it will be discuss that how the climate change is affecting the business and in addition the
suggestion will be given to the business to reduce the use of carbon footprints in their operation(
Beyeler, 2020).

MAIN BODY
Evaluate on how climate change cause problems on businesses across the world with
suitable examples and suggesting steps for businesses to implement in reducing uses of
carbon footprint.
The frequent changes in the climate causing difficulties in operating the business. As the
climate of the Earth is very warm these days, which would created the difficulties for the
organisation in supply chain, in the cost of production and also facing the labour challenges. Due
to changes in the climate there is disastrous changes in the weather and it occurs the hurricane,
floods, fires etc. which affects any business economy around the world(Ohba, 2019)The changes
in the climate would give threats to the business across the world, because it directly affects the
business operations and it is very obvious if the business is facing difficulty to operate the
business it means the cost got fluctuate, the resources got damage, it interrupts the workforce and
the facilities and this all is happening due to changes in the environment due to changes in the
climate which leads to issue for the business( Sugimoto, 2019)Apart from these difficulties the
changes in the climate also cause the lives of species in danger, it would affect the property, the
transportation which would directly affect the business organisations. The changes in the climate
also creates the “transition risk” for the organisation in this risk many risk were include like
regulatory risk, technological risk, market risk, reputation al risk and the legal risk also. The
liability risk for the organisation would also increase due to non compliance with the changing
legal and regulations expectations. Organisation who got failed to see the future changes in the
climate which affects the products and services of the company were in huge risk to maintain the
market place(Yoon, 2020).
There are some changes taken place in the environment due to the changes in the climate
which can be observable like melted glaciers, more ice on water, hazardous ultraviolet rays and
many more. There are several aspects of business which got affected due to changes in the
climate for example the season of frost got the length due to which the ecosystem and the
agriculture sector got affected across the globe. Due to massive increase in sea level and the
drought in the fields affect the agriculture due to which the business will also got affected
because it would affects the cost of production as after the disastrous changes in the agricultural
the organisation faced difficulty to got the raw material and it would leads to decrease the
production level and the demands of the customers were not fulfilled which cause the loss to the

organisation(Choi, 2020)The organisation can suffer for the long term due to the changes in the
climate and it causes the success of the company. One of the company in UK name as Flamingo
horticulture which deals with the agricultural products as it got the supply of the raw material
from the global suppliers in ecological property, due to changes in the climate and by using the
carbon the company went to the risk of success.
Carbon footprints means the amount of carbon dioxide got released into the atmosphere,
there are so many activities of the companies through which the level of carbon dioxide got
increase in the atmosphere which causes the changes in the climate, the activities like
manufacturing of plastic bottles, wastage of resources which was thrown into the water resources
cause the pollution in the environment by which the level of carbon got increased in the
environment and it causes the carbon footprint. If the companies or the industries reduces the use
of carbon it would really protect the environment from hazardous gases which would affect the
climate. To stop the uses of carbon there are some measures to follow such as the company can
give importance to three R in the operation I.e. Reduce, Recycle and Reuse, it means the
company can manufacture such products whose raw material wastage got easily biodegradable
and recycle so that the material can reuse and there is no need to throw the garbage in bulk into
the water resources, it will reduce the use of carbon footprints in the organisation(Zhang,
2019)By many ways the organisation can reduce the uses of carbon gas like reducing the use of
plastic, the raw material which got hard to decompose like diary products, use of sustainable
suppliers reduce the carbon need and the renewable energy can be use to ignore the carbon
footprints( Huang, 2019).

CONCLUSION
From the above report it will be clear that to reduce the use of carbon footprints the
organisation has to use new methods to manufacture the products in which there are no use of
carbon. It's the duty of every individual also to take care the environment(Arhonditsis, 2019)It
also states in this report that changes in the climate would directly affect the business and its
operation. In the last, the solutions were also discussed in the above report to reduce the use of
carbon footprints which slow down the changes in the climate.
