INTRODUCTION
Sustainable organization is a commercial enterprise that intent to stay in the market for a
long period of time by practising operations that are safe for the use to consumers, fulfil their
needs and gaining a large amount of market share. There are various types of problems that are
faced by a company in their daily operations and need to solve them. The product or services in
which the company deals should either be a essential one that are needed by them in their daily
lives or the company makes changes in its products / services according to the needs of the
markets. The report file is based on few case studies that were given by - Christoph Gebald and
Jan Wurzbacher on the term of entrepreneurship.
MAIN BODY
Task 1
Critical evaluation of the roles and responsibilities of Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher
being strategic sustainable administrators. Mentioning several tools and concepts of
strategic business administration that are applicable on the issues related to sustainability :
Jan Wurzbacher and Christoph Gebald are two researchers and entrepreneurs that
established a business entity which was focused on emitting the gas carbon dioxide from the
environment. Carbon Dioxide is a gas commonly known and found in the environment that has
many disadvantages when its amount of presence gets increase. It is the gas excreted from the
human beings which has no or very less good use in the environment. When the carbon dioxide
was only exerted by the human beings through their respiration system then it was okay and
maintained by the trees. But the increasing amount of vehicles has highly impacted on the
increasing level of it (Edwin Cheng and et.al., 2021). This started creating a problem in the
environment through effecting the healths of the people and increasing the level of global
warming. Considering this problem, these entrepreneurs created a entrepreneurial venture that
would work for the concern and decrease the level of carbon dioxide in the environment. It was a
attraction earning and goodwill creating element for but the company does operated just to
decrease the level of CO2 but to collect these gases and use them in various sources they can be
used such as for preserving cold drinks. The vision of the firm was to decrease 1% of CO2. But

being a sensitive concern there are various governmental permissions that are needed for proper
practising of this entrepreneurial venture. Several types of roles and responsibilities that Jan
Wurzbacher and Christoph Gebald need to consider for operating in the market are :
Considering the health of its employees and other people living nearby – The plant for
the carbon emissions may release pollutants that harm the health of the people that are
inside the premises of the venture or surroundings (Paul, Moktadir and Paul, 2020).
These people can be its employees or normal people that live or work nearby. This is the
responsibility of the managers to provide them with essential equipments and keep a
check regularly.
Predicting the future of the organisation - Sustainable organisations are the organisations
that operate for a long period of time and keeps on getting with time. Being a sustainable
manager it is necessary for them to analyse the present and future demand of their
product in market and keeps on developing it to provide the customers with better
satisfaction.
Concepts and tools of strategic business management in context of sustainability are discussed in
the following :
OKR – Objective and key results (OKR) is a framework used for setting goals and
tracking the outcomes to analyse the potential and current performance of the business
enterprise to find measures for increasing the performance. This tool can be used by
Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher in their sustainable entrepreneurial venture by
setting objectives of collecting large amount of carbon dioxide from the environment and
build a large profitable venture that also helps in keeping the environment healthy and
safe. At the time of finishing the operating cycle or period set for the completion of
objective, it must measure the actual results compare them from the desired results and
analysing the deviations (Balasubramanian and Balaji, 2021). Through these deviations
the company get help in their future planning and strategic management.
Swot analysis – It is one of the most basic and powerful strategical tool that is used in
analysing both the internal and external business environment of a company. Its
components are elaborated below in reference to the corresponding sustainable business :
Strengths – These are the powerful areas that provide competitive advantage to a
company. The strengths of Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher is that they have a

big amount funds available to them which they can use in their business and make
ideas actual.
Weakness – These are the incapabilities that prove to give a negative effect on the
firms. The lack of knowledge about the industry and product is the weakness for the
corresponding business.
Opportunities – The areas that provide business opportunity to a business for
achieving growth in the market come in this factor. Christoph Gebald and Jan
Wurzbacher are building a whole new market, there are no competition for them so it
is a huge opportunity for it to create a new market with no customers serve a large
amount of customers (Nguyen and et.al., 2022).
Threats – These are the factors that provide chances of failure or danger to an
organisation. The threats for the related entrepreneurial venture is the government that
may imply certain rules and regulations that minimises the power or may even do not
allow the way of practising business due to the sensitive concern of environment.
PESTLE analysis This is a strategic management tool that scan the external
environment of a business entity through several of its factors that form the acronym and
are the most important external business environment factors due to their strong
influence. Its components are mentioned in the following points in context of the
corresponding business venture :
Political – These are government / politics related factors. The related business
industry has large influence of this factor due the sensitive concern of environment
for which they work. The government might imply different rules and regulations for
them that are needed to be followed.
Economical – The factors that relate to the economy of the country in which the
company operates comes under this. Different factors such as employment level,
income distribution and demand and supple have a influence over the related
company (Nilsson, 2020).
Social – These are the people of the market related factors. The people or society
have a strong influence and can easily affect a business entity as they are final
consumers. The related company may not directly serve the people of the society but

it the people against the company than no other business will partner with them due
the acceptance of the people.
Technological – These are the technology / innovation related factors. Being a carbon
emission plant, there is the need of high technological innovatory machineries that are
capable to suck in the carbon dioxide from the environment and store it safely so that
it can be sold and used further. The innovations should be regularly checked and
updated to avoid issues and problems. The machines keep on getting innovated so
their should be a check on the machines for the related work in the market and
analyse how the work can be more effective and efficient.
Legal – These are the legal bodies related factors that formulates the rules and
regulations and assure their following by the expected ones. There are different types
of legalities that Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher need to follow while
operating their entrepreneurial venture (Almutairi and Ghandour, 2021). When these
legal rules and regulations are not followed, the legal bodies can punish the rule
breakers and charge fine or waive some other penalties.
Environmental – The environment or surroundings related elements fall under these
factors. The importance of these factors is increasing day by day due to the increasing
of pollution in the environment and harming negatively on the health of the people.
The corresponding venture is very much related to environment so needs to consider
the different environmental factors and assure that they are not polluting the
environment but having a positive effect on it.
Task 2
Mentioning several economical and ethical dilemmas that are faced by strategic leaders in their
process of balancing short term and long term goals :
There are unlimited types and numbers of dilemmas that are faced by the leaders or
managers of a business enterprise. As the life is uncertain, people do not what is going to come
and happen in the near future and as the leaders have all the responsibilities over their business
firm so they different types of dilemmas that are needed to be solved. Economical dilemmas are
the choices related to the economical factors such as money and the ethical ones are the

dilemmas that are related to the well being of society and knowing / fulfilling the responsibilities
of self being a leader of the business firm for which number of employees work and on whose
product / service different customers consume (Nguyen and et.al., 2019). Some of these
economical and ethical dilemmas are mentioned in the following points :
Maintaining the cash flow – The maintenance of cash and equivalents is one of the most
difficult dilemma for a leader (not if the company is operating on a large scale). The
different options in the related matter are – how much to be kept in hand (as some
amount of cash in hand is required to incur daily basis miscellaneous expenses), amount
of money deposited in the bank and amount of money needed to be invested with the
choices of sources.
Honesty – The employees and customers of a business entity expect it to be honest with
them. The practices it does, the raw materials it uses and all the related people and things
that the customers and employees ned to know must be shared with them. Transparency
in the work is appreciated by the people of the market. For example – Domino's make
their pizza with maintaining transparency and let the customers see how they are making
it to assure the quality.
Justice – There may be conflicts in the premises of the business firm by its working
employees which are needed to solved and maintained effectively. Confits can happen at
anytime and anywhere. The leaders must handle these conflicts in such a way that it
creates a positive impact on the ones that does conflicts and also the spectating ones
(Herman and et.al., 2018). There must be justice and no partially should be practised as it
will create a negative impact on the ones that are facing the partiality. It can have direct
effect on the employees turnover ration and also it can harm the goodwill of the firm.
High employment level – This directly leads to the amount of people that are ready to
work with the company. When the employment level of the country or area is high there
are less options with the company fro which they can select and due to high competition
in employing individuals then the demand for salary will also be higher. It may be good
for the country and its people but not for the company.
