1. DIAGNOSIS
1.1 Brief description
I am living in a flat situated at Artizan Street, London UK. This flat is situated in around
Porsche location having all the market near by flat. My flat is at 9 floor, so this gives an good
view from balcony, window side. This is 3 BHK house with fully furnished services. This flat
has three rooms attached bathrooms, one kitchen, hall, balcony, etc. In this flat, windows are
glaze which protect to maintain constant temperature in flat. There are central gas fired, heating
system with eco-friendly boiler (Note 3). This makes our flat more spacious and consisting all
the requirements. Area of this flat is 2000 square feet. We are living three members in this house.
Al the members are adult having approximately same age group. This flat is 30 years old.
1.2 Carbon Footprint
Carbon footprint refers to measurement of overall green house effect gases such as
carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, etc. produced by house hold activities. There are different
activities which are conduct in flat. There are possibilities that this may lead to increment in
pollution in environment. There are different factors such as waste from grocery material, fossil
fuel, wastage from fruits vegetable and other eatable, etc. which has to be considered while
calculating carbon foot print (Asara, V. and et. al., 2015). Green house gases effect health and
increase pollution of society. While residing in this flat, there is wastage of material which
affects carbon footprint. In order to reduce ill- effects of carbon footprint, it is important to
consider changes which are taking place in external environment. As our flat is situated in
crowded place so there are some factors such as industries, transportation sector, etc. This
increase carbon footprint in near by area.
1.3 Habits
While residing in flat, we are three people having different habits. There is difference in
lifestyle of three people because we belongs to different geographical region. There is
requirement of energy in the form of electricity, heat in the form of boilers, etc. (Atalay and et.
al., 2016) While residing at flat, there is consumption of around 4459 KWH, gas consumption is
19252 KWH. Gas consumption is more because of more consumption in boilers and cooking.
Electricity is also used to cook food through micro wave oven, induction, etc.

Water use is optimal at our flat as per water bill. We tries to conserve more and more
water. Waste water is used for washing purpose. We are fond of travelling. Hence sometimes we
stay out of flat for few days. There are different purpose behind our travelling such as
educational tour, outing purpose, etc. AS we belong to different geographical region, so there is
difference in or eating habits. Two of us prefer to eat late at night, while one eat in evening. We
three of us prefer to eat vegetarian dishes. There are different wastage in our flat such as rotten
fruits and vegetables, waste water, stinky food eatable, etc.
1.4 Eco- Mapping
Eco- mapping is the tool through which small scale associations can manage their
environmental components. This helps to improve overall environment wastage from flat. This is
the systematic method which provides complete information about environmental audit (Blay-
Palmer, Sonnino and Custot, 2016). As there is issue of pollution, so with this tool it is easy to
analyse sources of major pollution. (Note 1)
1.5 Aspects and impacts
There are different factors such as external sources which affects environment of flat. Air
and noise pollution are the prime components which affects environment of our flat. As flat is
situated in crowdy place hence there is much nose pollution because of transport facilities.
Sometimes due to excess noise we are not able to rest properly. There are health issues as well
due to excess pollution.
Well being monitoring is done to understand that project is conducted in proper way or
not. With well being plan, it is clear that information is relevant and it is realistic according to
external factors.

carbon footprint, there was around 2500 carbon in environment. But with conducting program
and aware people about changes, it is easy to reduce amount of carbon from environment. This
helps to reduce carbon amount till about 250 tCO2e.
There are some obstacles and issues in conducting program. Some issues are: people are
not aware about environmental concept. They do not want to collect and gather information
about factors which affects environment of society. There are some respondents who feels that
this topic is uninteresting, so they do not give importance to it. While conducting program, there
was no interesting activity which creates hurdle in interacting with respondents. There is no
practical aspect which shows positive impact of improvement in environment. Potential of this
program is it is helpful in maintaining environment up to mark. It helps to creates people aware
about their amount of wastage which can be reduced with little awareness (Jorge and et. al.,
2015).
