ABSTRACT
The main idea of conducting this present research in determining the impact of
sustainable construction management on the timeline of project. In this current research the
researcher has focused on examining the different objectives such as understanding the concept
of sustainable construction management and to promote sustainable management within an
organisation. It also identify the challenges faced by the company while implementing
sustainable construction and different advantages and disadvantages of brining sustainable
construction management. The researcher has conducted this research because this will help in
gaining knowledge and skills about the topic in a detailed manner for getting the right job and for
more growth in the future. Sustainable construction management is an important aspect for the
construction industry because it helps in developing the buildings in an effective and efficient
manner. The management of the construction related project in a sustainable manner mainly
focus on the whole process from an early design for the final product and on the negative and
benefits that are to be expected in the life of the researcher. It mainly focus on using recyclable
and renewable materials in constructing large buildings and reducing waste production and
energy consumption so that better growth can be attained. Sustainable materials related to
building are those which are sourced and produced locally and this helps in dealing with the
business objective and goals in a productive manner. It is important for the researcher in getting
detailed information about the particular topic and in conducting the future research on the same
topic in an appropriate manner. For improving the environment condition, it is important for the
company manager to develop high sustainability within the business so that they gain high
growth and success within the competitive business market. The researcher has used quantitive
research methodology in the current research so that accurate and detailed information about the
topic can be acquired and attained. The responses from different number of respondents are
recorded through questionnaire in order to attain correct and fair information about the selected
topic in an effective manner. Survey method is used for conducting the study in a proper manner
and this helps in attaining the research aim and objectives in an effective and significant manner.

INTRODUCTION
Overview of the research
Sustainable construction management is the process of building environment friendly
structures for the public in order to minimise the impact of environmental and waste. In simple
words, sustainable construction management can be defined as the method of using recyclable
and renewable materials while building new structures of building so the consumption and
energy can be reduced in an effective manner (Stanitsas, Kirytopoulos and Leopoulos, 2021).
Sustainability is important for both public and private sector because this helps in using the
resource in optimum manner so that they achieve environment friendly nature in the business. It
supports environment friendly nature so that they build buildings in an effective manner so that
they use the resources of the business in an decreased way. Sustainable practices of building
have results in experiencing high growth in order to improve the overall working of the business
organisation and for dealing with the problems of the environment in an effective manner. The
construction industry is the most effective user of all the resources so that the business operations
of the company in a proper and efficient way (Cai and Waldmann, 2019). With the growing
concerns in the change in climate and nature of resources so that they construct building in a
more effective and efficient way. The environmental changes impact the construction industry in
order to reduce the energy and waste so that they save the time of the labour and money in a
more efficient way. Sustainable construction can be defined as a use of renewable resources so
that they use the raw materials so that high growth and success can be gained in the business
market. It is the responsibility of the construction industry to focus in building materials which
are sustainable in nature and this makes the business more string and helps in constructing
building in a timely manner with less use of natural resources.
Sustainable construction industry is defined as the practice of creating a healthy working
environment that is generally based on the ecological principles. The sustainable practices
related to the construction on six principles such as reuse, conserve, protect nature, renew/
recycle, create high quality and non-toxic (Tunji-Olayeni and et. al., 2018). The main goal to
reduce the impact on the environment by properly utilising the practices related to the sustainable
development, taking full benefit of green technology and stating energy efficiency. Construction
sector is the most unique sector that helps in constructing buildings and houses for living and

staying purpose for the general public with a proper guidance and cooperation with the workers.
It is important for the sustainable construction industry to utilise the resources so that they deal
with the resources in a more effective and efficient manner so that they acquire more growth and
success in the business market and for delivering better opportunities. On of the best method of
practising sustainability within the construction industry is to by checking the materials that are
used in the process of construction. The material mainly includes recycles plastic, bamboo and
laminated timber so that effective and productive construction can be done and waste of
resources can be minimised (Babalola, Ibem and Ezema, 2019). Developing green buildings are
very beneficial to the overall environment because they help in minimising the effect of danger
and his helps in achieving sustainability within the construction industry. Sustainable
construction management is the combination of construction practices and sustainable materials
related to building in order to minimise the waste for gaining environmental impact in a positive
manner (Karakhan, Gambatese and Simmons, 2020). The management in the process of
construction project in the sustainable manner should mainly focus on the early design structure
so that they lead towards the final product and on the advantages and negative impacts that are
expected during the cycle of providing facility.
The UK construction industry is the one that helps in constructing building so that better
employment opportunities can be acquired within the business market. With the increasing effect
of digitalisation, it is important for the construction industry to adopt new ways and technologies
within the business so that they also gain competitive advantage over other rival companies in an
effective way. It is important for every construction business to make use of new and advanced
technology so that they deal with the changing marketing situations in an appropriate and
effective manner (Yu, Yevu and Nani, 2020). With the recent changes that occur in the market
has forced business organisations to make use of new and advanced technology so that they do
the work related to construction in a fast and quick manner. Total employment related with the
year 2020 likely to fall by 3% as compared with the year 2019 especially between the self-
employed workers which experienced a fall of around 11%. But with the increase in the
construction companies with the UK, employment opportunities also gets increased and this
results in gaining future growth and success in the competitive market. The growth of
productivity in the construction industry with the last 20 years has been subdued but also have
experienced hike in the recent years and provided more opportunities.

From the above graph, it is interpreted that GVA experienced a high growth in the business after
the year 2013. The gross value added has decreased roughly to 14% which is nearly amounting
to around 79.54 billion GBP. In the year 2010, GVA within the construction industry has shown
strategic hike which was amounting to around 112.2 billion GBP in the year 2017. Construction
is considered as an important sector where Britain has a high and strong competitive edge in the
business market. Changes in the international economy are generally creating new opportunities
for Britain and this helps in dealing with the changing marketing conditions.

From the above graph it is interpreted that the UK construction industry in the industry projects
so that they deal with the marketing condition in an effective manner. The facts and figures
generally interprets that there are different types of construction projects in which the UK
construction deals. The above statistics shows that the sector in the UK in the year 2018. Out of
all the construction related projects 35 percent were residential construction project which
require more detailed information about the project site. While 17 percent were in the
infrastructure sector which also demands good and potential work.

fossil fuels and shipping of raw materials. Around 45% of the total UK carbon emissions come
from the construction of the building in which 27% from the domestic buildings and 18% from
non-domestic. 13% of the products that are delivered to the sites of construction are directly sent
to the landfill actually being used by the labour in the process of constructing the building. 32%
of the landfill waste come from the demolition and the construction of buildings and this requires
proper utilisation of raw materials. Sustainable construction management helps in building a

management is that strategy that help in standing out above other employees that are working
within the construction industry. Green building has a moderate level in the UK and this enables
market penetration has been rising and is generally expected to continue in the long run.
There are different different examples of sustainable construction industry that exists in

the construction business. Previous construction industry has faced the problem of air pollution
in the process of construction which generally affects the health of the workers that are working
at the site. They also face the issue of safety and security among the business organisation
because they are not choosing the sustainable environment which results in reducing the overall
growth. As the UK population is increasing and this makes the cities and towns run out the
construction site as they are having that particular land for constructing the building in a proper
