INTRODUCTION
All the activities that are performed for the purpose of management of tourism within a
country are considered as the part of tourism management. All the businesses that are part of this
industry are required to make sure that they are able to deal with all the issues that are faced by
the tourists so that tourism could be sustained. Responsible and sustainable tourism is also
focused with marketing activities that are required to be performed for attracting large number of
individuals towards the tourist destinations (Musavengane, 2019). This report is covering
different topics such as analysis of featured of responsible and sustainable tourism, assessment of
importance of the development planning for tourism sustainability. Additionally, this assignment
also focuses upon various types of principles that are required to be focused for management of
responsible and sustainable tourism.
TASK 1
P1 Explanation of the way in which the concepts of sustainable and responsible tourism have
evolved
All the organisations that are operating under tourism sector are required to be focused
with sustainable and responsible tourism. It is very important for performing all the operational
activities in systematic manner and fulfil all the requirements of tourists. While planning to
manage the tourism various areas should be considered by the entities. One of the key areas is
carrying out such activities that are friendly with the environment. The examples of them are
reducing, reusing, recycling, providing social and economic advantages to the society.
Additionally, all the practices that are focused with protection of natural and cultural heritage are
also required to be performed so that tourisms could eb sustained and developed. Apart from
this, responsible tourism could be defined as the interaction of residents of country with the
tourists. While planning to attain sustainability it will be very important for the tourism
organisations to take equity, environment and economics into consideration (Ruhanen and
Bowles, 2019).

involved in the promotion of sustainable and responsible tourism
Travel and tourism could be defined as a large source of generating funds. All the
companies that are carrying out business under travel and tourism industry are required to assure

that all the operations are carried out by the in systematic manner so that tourism could be
promoted and sustained. There are various organisations which are highly focused with
sustainable and responsible tourism. These are Destination Stewardship Centre, United Nations
World Tourism Organisation, Centre for Responsible Travel etc. All of them are paying attention
towards global tourism. The largest entity among all of them s United Nations World Tourism
Organisation and it is performing it operational activities at global level. It is highly focused with
promotion of sustainable tourism at universal level. The role, function and mission of it and other
companies like it could be analysed with the help of following discussion:
Mission: United Nations World Tourism Organisation and other entities like it, are
operating business for the mission of spreading awareness about different types of policies and
procedures that should be focused by all the travel and tourism sector entities.
Role: World Tourism Organisation is also a global entity which is focused with
promotion of sustainable and responsible tourism. Its role is to promote the sustainability of
environment and tourism at global level to increase the number of tourists (Shen, Sotiriadis and
Zhou, 2020).
Different functions: All the functions of global entities focused with responsible and
sustainable tourism is as follows:
Paying attention towards encouragement of all the destinations that are well known for
tourism inspiring them to maintain the infrastructure.
Making sure that tourism is promoted all around the world in order to develop the growth
level of economy.

The procedure which is focused with such activities that are performed for attracting large
number of tourists from different locations around the world. In order to ignore the negative
impact of tourism it is very important for all the organisations operating under tourism industry
to make sure that all the actions that are taken by them are right or not. For all the businesses it is
essential to make efforts to reduce negative impact of tourism and in order to perform activities

Purpose of tourism development: Tourism development is focused for different
purposes which are cultural exchange, relaxation, healthcare, events, leisure etc. These are some
of the specific purposes that are focused by tourists who are visiting a new country. When
tourists will visit the countries then it can also help to improve its social image. One of the
purposes of tourism develop is to provide job or employment to local people. There are various
adverse impacts of tourism which are pollution, diseases, damaged infrastructure. In order to deal
with these issues, tourism development is focused (Törn-Laapio, 2019).
Various principles of tourism development: All the principles of tourism development
that are focused with ignorance of negative impact of tourism are as follows:
Tourism within the country should offer employment opportunities to the individuals
who are living within the country as it can help to resolve the problem of unemployment
within the nation.
Specific guidelines for the tourists should be passed by local authority so that the
possibility of pollution and damaged infrastructure could be ignored.
All the tourists who are visiting the country should be screened according to the medical
guidelines. With the help of it, the possibility of spreading of disease could be ignored.
It is very important for all the countries to establish code according to international
tourism standards at different level such as local, national and regional and it is also
required to be focused that it is followed by tourists.
For all the countries it is also very important to make sure that education and training
programs should be started so that awareness regarding the safety measures that should
be focused by tourists could be enhanced.

problems, providing specific tourism examples
Tour and travel preparation is an important aspect that helps control customer service when
travelling. It is essential for tour and travel organizations to successfully manage all of the
corporate objectives and goals.

expectations and requirements are.
2. Security: A further issue facing the travel and tourism sector is safety. Tourism
destinations event management needs to take live in a controlled and safeguard setting. A
most important thing in the work of exploiting this opportunity and travel operator is
client and local approach.
