INTRODUCTION
Tourism sector is the fastest growing industry in UK. The reason for growth of tourism sector is
the idea of sustainable tourism that has supported the growth of industry. Sustainable tourism that
considers the present needs and ensure that the future generation will be able to meet the requirement of
the tourist destination. Sustainable tourism is an industry intends to have less effect on environment and
domestic culture.
Sustainable tourism principle and practices are applicable to all kinds of tourism, types of
destination. It also includes mass and various segments of niche Tourism. It intends to ensure that
development is a positive experience for domestic people, tourism industry and tourists.
The reports emphasizes on various aspects of tourism. It has focus on identifying the different
stakeholders those who would be benefited by tourism development planning. The study will include the
tourism development planning process. The purpose of the project is to provide suitable and effective
suggestion for development of emerging tourist destination.
TASK 1
1.1Identifying and analyzing the way different stakeholder would be benefit from
tourism development planning
Mega Sports events have major effect on tourism industry as well as destination. It is very
essential for government to understand that there are various stakeholders are involved in
planning related to development of tourist destination. For instance considering the example of
Olympics which took place in London that has helped UK in overcoming from economic crisis.
During Olympics more than 2.5 million international visitors has visited Britain. There was
involvement of various stakeholders such as hotel owners, restaurant owners, government, and
community and tour operator. These stakeholders are accountable for hosting tourist and for
generating revenue as well as profit for the industry. If theses stakeholders able to fulfill their
role and duties in effective manner then they can generate various benefit from tourism
development planning (Kazak, 2017)
Legal authority of Brazil- The government generates revenues in form of taxes on the profit
earned by tourism department. Additional income is obtained by government from existing
service tax.
Local tour operator and tourism companies-Brazil is considered as most popular destination and
expect increase in number of tourist. It has been expected that increase in visitor in the country
will lead to the rise in demand for various services such as food, accommodation, hotel , tour
operators, guides, etc. Tour operator, hotel and restaurant owners, guide will be benefitted as
they will be provided with the opportunity to increase their revenue, profit margin and enhance
growth. The community will be benefitted as the revenue generated by tourism department

would be unvested on economic development of the country as well as society. Development of
tourism and destination will have positive impact on employment factor.
1.2 Discussing the Advantages and disadvantages of Public-private partnership in
tourism planning and development
In mega sports event that was organized in London Private and public partnership has played
significant role in hosting, organizing and managing these events. Hosting of such big
proceedings require lots of funds and investment. Neither public sector had potential to organize
such events independently and nor private sector have sufficient resources to conduct this
events. Both private and public sector organization has identified partnership as a way to conduct
big events. London destination is an example where organization of Olympic Games was
possible only through the partnership of these firms. London government has the budget of only
1.5 billion and it has to conduct various activities such as planning, funding, preparation and
organizing of Olympic Games. Public agency of London was had the authority to development
of buildings, stadium, infrastructure and other important destinations.AS public sector was not
having sufficient funds. Economic factors have great impact on visitors in order to avoid such
effect public sector organizations were supported by private companies. Such big events have
great impact on visitors. In order to organize event in effective and systematic manner Public and
private sector has played very significant role. The Government was able to develop Olympic
village with the support of funds that were provided by private sector. Due to the support of
partnership the government was able to make positive impression on visitor. Partnership had
provided legal authority and tourism industry to attract more number of visitors.
The disadvantage of this partnership is that the profit motive of private sector companies can
have negative impact on the quality of work. It can increases the chances of corruption in Public
sector.
TASK 2
2.1 Tourism development planning process
Planning is the act of or process of formulating plans, deciding tactics in detail in order to
achieve specific goals or objectives. Tourism development is the outlines that provides direction
to domestic tourism country and have focus on development of domestic tourism industry,
community, domestic business and government. This types of planning emphasizes on
identifying mechanism through which the domestic industry can help in accommodating the
diverse aspiration of the community. This type of planning process is integrative in nature and
planning process is multidimensional activity. The planning process has focus on various as
social, technological, economical, legal and environmental factors (Jordan and Vogt,2017)

It is inclusive in nature. For instance during organization of Olympic games the focus of whole
country was on formulating plan , maintaining entire destination in London, development of
infrastructure etc. was implemented. Such planning had resulted into enhancement in visitor
economy. The outcome tourism development planning was improved and well maintained
destination (Dwyer, L., Čorak and Tomljenović, 2017)
1.2 Interactive planning and evaluating the importance of interactive planning
system
The other aspect of tourism development planning process is involvement of interactive
planning.
It intends to have focus on ensuring that all the stakeholders are engaged in organizing particular
event. There is effective communication and coordination between all stakeholders to keep
control on planning activities .For instance in London Olympic the focus of Olympic organizing
committee and private sector was on tourism development planning. There was various meeting
had taken place and discussion happened which has supported private and public sector
organization in producing effective outcome of tourism development planning.( Domínguez-
Gómez. and González-Gómez, 2017)
