• Sustainable tourism refers to the fulfil all the
needs of the customers without
compromising in current and future economic,
social and environmental impacts.

the local environment and culture through
boosting the economic development.

3.1 Justify the introduction of the concept of
sustainability in tourism development
• Sustainable development in tourism sector means the
strategies which meet the needs of the present
requirement without compromising the future
requirement of demand.

factors of economic, social and environmental
impacts of the tourism.

which affect the tourism in the country.
• It supply the energy to the tourism sector,
fuel which used to reach at the destination.

3.2 Analyse factors that may prevent/hinder sustainable
tourism development
There are various factors that hinder the sustainability of the tourism
development.
• Service and facility-
As the traveller have the various expectations and these expectations are very
high. Different people have the different expectation and when these are not
fulfilled it creates the hinder of all the travel plan.
• Safety -
This is the main factor that helps I the sustainability of the tourism
development. If there are various kind of threat, disease and terrorism
present at the place then no one wants to go there.

• Cost –
Before making any kind of plan for travelling cost plays and important role
in the travel. Without proper cost analyses travel plan does not sussed.
• Weather-
weather is considering while choosing the destination for the travel. While
considering the weather temperature and other factors are analysed.
• Use of resources –
if the proper and appropriate use and implementation is done then only it
gives the advantages to the country otherwise it creates extra cost for the
country.

3.3 Analyse different stages in planning for
sustainability
For proper planning for sustainability there are the various
stages which helps to make the planning successful. Those stages
are –
Stage 1-
This stage describes the aims of the sustainability plan. This
includes the tourist attractions, visitor services and organisational
capabilities.
Stage 2 –
In this stage various plans are made and organise them properly
for achieving the success of the tourism sector.

Stage 3 –
In this stage Qatar decide the various places which attract more the
visitors. This stage is totally based on the visitor’s interest, motive
to visit the place and the needs of the visitor.
Stage 4-
As stakeholders play an important role in the tourism sector so
consulting with the stakeholder is also important while making
planning regarding the sustainability.
Stage5-
In this stage proper research is conducted and solutions are made if
require. As Qatar host different sports event so proper strategies are
required to be made as per the demand of the visitors.
