This unit of Sustainable Tourism Development includes the actual understanding of tourism
growth or enlargement. The main endeavour of this study is for the learners to gain the
knowledge about the foundation and various approaches to sustainable tourism, tourism planning
and enlargement, present issues and the impacts of tourism as well. It helps in increasing the
awareness of the learners for managing and planning the tourism at various levels such as
national, local, regional and international also. It includes the current trends for planning the
development of different tourism destinations. It also includes the philosophy and principles of
the sustainable tourism development in a well-behaved manner. Pros and Cons of private and
public sector tourism planning partnership have also drawn in this unit in the perfect manner. In
order to understand it better the example of Qatar has been taken into the consideration which is
a rich culture country in the Middle East. It hosts around 80 events of sports annually.
