INTRODUCTION
Sustainability defines the use of resources without influencing their competencies and
abilities regarding the future generations. This concept in tourism is useful in eliminating the bad
impacts of tourist on the culture environment and economy. To carry forward this report Cosmos
tourism is considered which is a tour operator in UK and offer vacation packages covering the
whole continent and cover many countries as well and also provide affordable prices to their
customers with good lasting memories (Mathew and Sreejesh, 2017). Moreover this report is
divided into two parts first is covered in a written report including the concept of Sustainable and
responsible tourism and its function and mission towards the leading Global organisation. Along
with this also explore the purpose and principle of tourism development and planning and
evaluate its procedure and associated challenges and issues. Away with this second part include
PowerPoint presentation which covers the impact of tourism activity and how its principles are
useful to meet the requirements of stakeholders. It also evaluates the sustainability for
developing and managing the range of tourist destinations.
TASK 1
P1. Explain how the concept of sustainable and responsible tourism has evolved
Sustainability and responsible tourism is all about filling the existing requirements without
influencing the future needs of tourist. It includes all the economic social cultural and
environmental factors. In relation with this various organizations are responsible for the
sustainability of tourism industry and tourist as they are accountable for any evolution and
activity regarding tourists (Jamal and Camargo, 2018). More over this concept put emphasis on
the conservation of available resources for the future generation that is concerned with the
culture mountains rain forest biodiversity environment and so on of UK through achieving
sustainability in tourism. Therefore planning for Sustainable Tourism in UK is required to
eliminate the negative impact on the environment of people who come from other countries.
In addition to this their purpose is to conserve the biodiversity and tropical areas for the
future generation and maintaining sustainability of natural resources as it is the beauty of region.
In addition to this waste management and administration are concerned with tourism planning
and also responsible for the management of resources as the natural beauty culture and heritage
is the main reason behind the number of tourist in country. Sustainable Tourism in UK is helpful

some impacts which tend to develop critical questions that does not acceptable for the society as
it is the dynamic activity that transform its resources and changes in the prominent activity with

In relation with this the aim of government is to achieve all the necessary links in the policies
and programs that are concerned with their agencies and also develop effective coordination with
Central state and district level public bodies (Camilleri, 2016). They also put emphasis on the
development of tourism as the common Endeavour and also undertake private sector with it.
Offering basic infrastructure facility concerning the local planning and zoning
arrangements.
Provide prominent support and incentives to the domestic and foreign investors as well
regarding the encouragement of private investors in the tourism industry.
United Nations world tourism organisation (UNWTO)
For this the aim of UNWTO is to encourage the execution of International code of ethics
for tourism to enhance their contribution towards the tourism and also so developed socio
economic sector by minimizing the negative impacts (Del Chiappa, Grappi and Romani, 2016).
Moreover they also offer sustainability and leadership in order to advance the knowledge and
tourism policies across world.

Provide proper support to human resource development with the help of enhancing
education training and development within the tourism industry.
Promote domestic and foreign investment for the sustainable Tourism Development and
developer links with the local suppliers regarding the goods and services.
Private sector
This sector is responsible for offering various facilities considering accommodation
restaurants entertainment shopping and many more and also invest for the long term perspective.
In addition to this the non core activities of the tourism industry including airports luggage
transportation parking facilities open by the private operators to enhance the efficiency and
profitability (Booyens and Rogerson, 2016).
Make sure the protection and preservation off the tourist attraction that leads to develop
by the green practices.

reason behind is the seasonal impact. In relation with this it is important to monitor and measure
the Sustainable Tourism Development like by using sustainable indicators and environmental
assessment audit (Edgell Sr, 2019). Instrument for measuring success includes survey and
questionnaire economic activity model use of data analysis and website Analytics.
Principles of sustainable tourism
For this conservation and sustainable use of resources including natural and social is
significant that leads to develop long-term sense of business activities.
Elimination of overconsumption and waste leads to neglect the cost of restoring the long-

system is planning for the tourism actions that is significant as it engage tourist who comes from

by limiting the negative impacts on the country with the help of its policies (Steele, Dredge and
Scherrer, 2017). Interactive planning is useful in designing the services with the help of
segmentation off market and effective determination of market requirements.
Challenges for more sustainable growth
Managing dynamic growth: Dynamic growth leads to harm the prominent natural
resources which considerable pressure on the tourism industry to manage the growth in
prominent way. In relation with this it require careful planning of the venue and kind of new
