3.1 Introduction of the concept of sustainability
in tourism development
Sustainable tourism, is an industry that develops a suitable balance between the
economic, environmental and sociology-cultural elements of tourism development.
It plays a vital role in conserving bio-diversity. It also attempts to reduce its effect
on the local culture and environment so that it may be forwarded to the future
generations while contributing to employment, generating income and conservation
of the ecosystems.
Due to this, sustainable tourism enhances positive contribution of tourism to bio-
diversity conservation and therefore, helps in reducing poverty and obtaining goals
towards sustainable development.

main concern of many travellers. The prominent issue is
renovation of the monuments and heritage buildings , to
maintain their authenticity not too much change in them.
If the building part is damaged so it is very difficult to
make same, labours are not capable to rebuild the same
thing. There are many factors that prevent the sustainable
tourism development in Qatar these are:
Cost is the main factor that can affect the industry. The
traveller main aim is to travel at reasonable or low cost.
Cost is not limited to the ticket its overall costing like
food , resident and convince etc. are included .

safety. This the primary concern of any travellers because
when travelling in abroad or any other country.
Communicable diseases can also prevent the tourism
industry because when traveller returning to home
countries can be difficult . Just like swine flu which may
stopped many travellers to travelling abroad. Qatar also
uses safety feature for preventing the communicable
diseases which affect the tourism.

The temperatures, rainfall, more frequent
hurricanes, droughts which affect the
travellers choice and preference. Qatar
climate is very hot desert climate in summer,
there is low annual rainfall in rainy season
and spring and autumn are the best times to
visit Qatar. Most of the travellers seek to mild
temperatures and little rain on vacation and
wet or cold weather is not too good for
tourism. National disasters hinder many
travellers from visiting those are, because
safety is a primary concern for any travellers.
