INTRODUCTION
Sustainable development goals are the pattern or programmes to accomplish a amended
and more property or sustainable future for each and everyone. This goals define the global
issues and challenges that is faced by the population. These challenges and problems include
poverty, climate change, sanitation and clean water and several more (Monteiro, da Silva and
Neto, 2019). This report is going to discuss about the sustainable goals on clean water and
sanitation. This report identify and analysed the feasible opportunities after that they identify or
analysed each stakeholders and advantage for each of them. After that this report is build
sustainable model of the business in order to get success or design the success. After that It will
going to measure the strategies and improve them in order to maintain the goals and aims.
MAIN BODY
Sustainable Development Goal is focusing on Clean Water and Sanitation. The objective
and aims to address water abundance, bad quality and deficient sanitation globally. This will
boost or encourage investment in management of water and sanitation and capacity building in
this detail.

Chapter 2 : Background of the problem
Water and Sanitisation issues can be characterised as one of the leading global concerns
across the world. The entire ecosystem heavily relies upon water and sanitisation as its one of the
most basic needs or requirement for human survival. There are numerous issues pertaining to
poor sanitisation and inadequate supply of water and these issues not only lead to adverse impact
on the environment but also cause major implications for the human life as well. Few of the same
are highlighted below :-
 Poor water hygiene can lead to severe cases of diarrhoea among children which can cause
underlying health conditions within the same. These conditions can create a negative
impact on the overall heath of the children.
 In order to promote the education and safety of women in the society, it is important for
the individuals to concentrate upon establishing proper sanitisation facilities for women
in educational institutions, hospitals, workplaces, stores etc (Albareda-Tiana, Vidal-
Raméntol and Fernández-Morilla, 2018). It is necessary for the authority in charge of the
same to look forwards towards introduce safe sanitisation so that women can access
various facilities provided to them.
 There are various regions in the world wherein women have to travel for miles in order to
find a source of water in order to facilitate the consumption of the same. Water is the
primary source of life and this is the reason that despite bad weather conditions women
have to walk and cover long distances in search of accumulation of water from rivers and
lakes near their region.
 Individuals living across the desert region has to bear the brunt of massive heat rays
which enhances and alleviates the need of water intake within the same. Although there
water requirement is high but there are very few or no source of water consumption in
these areas. Thus, people living in the respective regions and areas also have to risk their
lives in order to facilitate their survival in such extreme conditions.
 Also, agriculture can be characterised as one of the biggest industries in the world and
massive water supplies are required in order to conduct the agricultural activities. The
entire world population is dependent upon agriculture for food. The major changes in the
climate and shortage of water makes its very difficult for the farmers to plant the crops

effectively and to preserve the same from harmful weather conditions for a long period of
time which in turn effects their earning and livelihood as well.
 The farmer who do not have adequate financial assistance become highly demotivated
and are prone to illness due to the unavailability of the prominent water supply.
Numerous cases are reported every year wherein it has been examined that farmers
commit suicide due to their inability to cope up with the stress and tension associated
with this industry mainly poverty and inadequacy of water.
 The ignorance of individuals towards the consumption of water may cause serious
complications for the upcoming future generations as the prevailing condition may lead
to water scarcity in the future (Santika and et. al., 2019. ). Nowadays, individuals to do
not have the time to focus upon the environmental concerns and are busy wit their daily
chores which makes it difficult for the society to look upon the issues pertaining to water
scarcity.
 According to the reports, around millions of children as well as adults die every year due
to the unavailability of proper sanitisation facilities and poor quality water in their region.
Water can be characterised as a basic right of the individuals living in the world and the
inability to access the right has lead to various deaths.
 Poverty can be termed as a situation wherein an individual does not have the access to the
basic requirement such as food,shelter, water, clothing etc. It is the inability of a person
to earn basic wages in order to satisfy its basic needs are requirements. The prevailing
poor water conditions and improper sanitisation is one of the major causes that has lead
to enhancement of poverty lately. In order to work towards the eradication of poverty
within the society, it is very essential for the individuals to focus on proving systemic and
hygienic sanitisation services to the individuals and to provide them with clean water in
order to reduce the illness and devisees associated with the consumption of the same.
It can be states that the are various issues and implication related to the water and sanitisation in
the world. It is the duty of each and every member in the society to look upon these concerns and
do their bit towards the elimination of the root causes that are encouraging the issues pertaining
to water and sanitisation.

Chapter 3 : Review of existing solutions
Every existing environmental problem has multiple solutions attached to the same. The
individuals catering to the environment and society needs to work smart in order to choose the
most viable and creative solution that can lead to the promotion of the environment as well as
assist the individuals in solving their potential problem.
In case of water and sanitisation problem, there are various solutions that came into the picture
such as :-
 In order to solve the issues related to unhygienic sanitisation and toiletries, individuals
can concentrate upon cleanliness of the toilets and work on building effective drainage
system in order to ensure that he waste is flushed down to sewer system. The respective
practice will promote clean sanitisation environment and also lead to reduction in the risk
associated with diseases such as dengue, cholera etc.
 It is very essential to promote knowledge in respect with the importance of clean
sanitisation and water consumption. Schools and universities should provide effective
education to the children and students about the necessity for water protection in order
lead a sustainable life in the future (Fritz and et. al., 2019). The educational institutions
can do the same by arranging various water conservation campaigns in schools and
colleges and enhancing the participation of students within the same. This will help to
create awareness in the society about the current water issues and will also enable them to
think about the relevant solutions that can lead to elimination of these existing problems
as well.
 The introduction of water harvesting system is one the steeping stones in leading the
drive for water consumption in the world. It can be characterised as technique that allows
the individuals to collect the water from rain and preserve the same. Individuals can
further facilitate the consumption of the preserves water in case of immediate
requirement.
 In order to enhance the sources of water in the society,, Individuals can concentrate on
extracting water from the ground through the utilisation of tube wells and other form of
extraction techniques. Ground water is one of the purest form of water available with the
individuals and extraction of the same can help the society to reduce the implications
associated with shortage of water.

 Major potential diseases arise due to the consumption of contaminated water or poor
quality of water. In order to solve this issue, individuals can optimise upon the utilisation
of filters at home. Filter will help the individuals to get rid of impurities in the water and
therefore enabling them to facilitate the consumption of fresh water. Solar disinfection
can also be capitalised by the individuals in order to eliminate impure elements from the
water to consume purest form water. The concerned practice also assist the indivduals in
preventing themselves from various harmful infection and disease caused by
contaminated water and drainage system .
 It is advisable to the individuals to save water my checking their water taps in order to
ensure that their no leakages within the same. The usage of buckets is more effective in
comparison to showers as the possibility of water consumption is high with the utilisation
of the former option. Showers lead top high volume of water wastage whereas buckets
ensure that only the required and much much needed amount of water is consumed.
All of the above mentioned solutions are quite productive as well as effective in facilitating the
consumption of water and promoting hygienic and safe sanitisation in the society.
One of the idea that can help the society to promote the wellness and suitability of the water
resources is mentioned below :-
The earth has provided the man kind with various water resources which can be utilised by the
individuals in order to fa ciliate their daily requirements. The majority of water supply is
dependent upon the water resources such as oceans, rivers, lakes,waterfall, ground water and
many more. Individuals should focus upon implementing innovative and creative plan of actions
and strategies to conserve the water resources at large so as to make sure that they can be taken
into consideration in needs and does not extinct ( Marmot and Bell, 2018). One of the innovative
ideas that can help the society in leading the conservation of water resources is as follows :-
 The current generation needs to acquire a sense of understanding about the current water
problems in the world in order to provide a sustainable environment to the upcoming
generation so that they do not have to bear the consequence for the ignorance and mistake
exhibited by the current population.
 The ideas is to facilitate the recreation and rebuilding of the environment by planting
more trees and arranging more conversational drives near the the water resources and
reconstructing them in the same form that they earlier were before the introduction of

deforestation and civilisation in the world. It is very important for this generation to
understand how these water resources were and what form they were in before the society
ruined them for their own selfish concerns.
 The promotion of tree plantation near the water resources and cleanliness near that
respective area will promote more clean and pure water which can be utilised for
drinking. The arrangement of conservation drives near the water resources will help the
younger generation to get insights about the beauty of nature and importance of water.
 Various creative banner and hoarding can also be designed and formulated for the drive
in order to capture the interest of the individuals towards the same and create more aware
and promotion in relation with hygiene, sanitisation, water conservation.
 The innovative recreational activities will shape the mind of society for good and they
will understand that in order to sustain their livelihood and many other generation to
come, it is very prominent for them to work towards the encouragement of clean and
hygiene water resources (Hickel, 2019).
 The necessity for water management techniques will also enhance because of this
practice as individuals will focus on how they can do their little bit for the water
conservation. They will further come up with new and creative ideas that may alleviate
the water and sanitisation drive to a next level.
 It can be stated that the proposed idea is a very good initiative which can open the eyes of
the society and make them wonder about the present scenario and the efforts that needs to
be done in order to save the human kind from the extinction of water resources.
Chapter 4 : Analysis
Brainstorming and idea generation is the just the primary step towards finding a solution to an
existing problem in the society. A detailed analysis and assessment needs to conducted in order
to identify the feasibility as well as the relevancy of the idea. It also very important to discuss the
plan of action that will be taken into consideration to shape the idea into the reality. The potential
outcomes of the idea also needs to be discussed as well in order to gain a perspective about the
potential possibilities that can result through the implementation of the respective idea in the real
world. In order to the analysis of the idea following below mentioned considerations and
elements needs to be answered to :-

The chose problem
The chosen problem can be termed as the problem chosen by the individuals in order to to
determine the possible solutions towards the same. In the respective case for sustainability, The
problem associated with water and sanitisation has been taken into consideration (Leal Filho and
et. al., 2019). The concerned issue has been chosen as it is one of the most popular and important
global concerns prevailing in the world current and it is very essential for the people to
understand the causes as well as implications associated with the issue in order to persuade them
to work towards the same.
Project
The project plan can be termed as the variables or the elements that are required for the
execution of the respective project in a systemic and productive manner. The following variables
are associated with the idea of “ Recreation of environment near water resources and
conservation drive” :-
 First and the foremost variable required for converting the idea into a reality is the
permission from the local government authorities,. Waster resources are public properties
and come under the control of government,. Hence, it is essential to get the paperwork
done and take the permission from the government to facilitate recreational program in
the respective areas.
 Once, he permission is granted from the local authorities, it is important to form a team of
volunteers who are interest and willing to provide their service in the respective initiative.
Every individuals should be designated and assigned their respective duty or role in the
group in order enhance efficiency and productivity of the work.
 Finance is one of the major variable that will be required to facilitate the operations
formulated in order to lead this initiative. It is important find the investors and sponsors
that can help the team in order to run their operations smoothly.
 Once, the investor is on board, the project can be commenced and recreation program can
be started. The team can work towards cleaning these water bodies and nearby areas in
order to ensure health and safety of individuals. Creativity can also be exercised while
preparing the banners and hoarding for the initiative and drive in order to deliver the
message behind the initiative i.e. clean and hygienic water resources.

 Volunteers and interested candidates will be reached through emails and the utilisation of
social media in order to participate in the drive and make it a success. A maximum of 15-
20 volunteers will be selected in order to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Masks as well as
sanitisers will be must for every individual at the drive in order to reduce the risk
associated with the Corona pandemic and to promote safety of each participant in the
respective drive.
 Videos and images of the drive can be made public through social media platform such
Instagram, twitter and Facebook in order to lead encouragement among other individuals
in the society to take a step forward towards the clean water and sanitisation concept and
provide heir services in the favour of the same.
 Post the drive, feedbacks and reviews can be taken into consideration by the individuals
who participated in the conservation drive so as to get the relevant opinion of the public
who participated in the drive and to make the drive more innovative and advanced in the
future run.
Project Outcome
Project outcome can be characterised as the potential possibilities associated with the success or
failure of the proposed project plan.
 The recreation of water resources plan is based upon the volunteering and initiative of the
individuals in the society(Moyerand Bohl, 2019). Hence, the success and failure of the
plan is also dependent upon the same.
 There may be a possibility of a large number of volunteers but only 15 -20 will be
selected on the basis of their passion for environment. Hence, it can lead to demotivation
among the rest of the individuals who are not selected for the drive.
 Also, the participants may do an excellent work through the recreation project which can
inspire millions of other towards doing their bit towards the upliftment of environmental
stature in the world.
 The inability of the volunteers to spread the message across appropriately can lead to
wastage of efforts and money which in turn can lead to the failure of the project.
 Overall its can be assessed that the potential outcome for the success of the project is
high in comparison to failure. The reason for the same can be termed as every little step

can lead to a big change in the world and can inspire many other to follow a good cause
behind the same.
Chapter 5 : Key finding and recommendations
 From the above discussed information, it can be stated that clean and hygienic water is
very impotent and prominent in order to lead a healthy and sustainable life. The current
world scenario is quite complicated wherein every individual is rushing towards their
personal goals and the society is not putting efforts towards the conservation of the
natural resources such as water (Horne and et. al., 2020).
 It can be said that this has lead to major scarcity of water across the world and the
respective issue has emerged as a top priority at the globe right now.
 The respective condition has also lead to various problems for the society and has
impacted the livelihood of the individuals as well. The spread of diseases, poverty,
disabilities, poor sanitisation services, increased garbage , contaminated water bodies,
plastics in ocean and seas, spilling of oil in water etc. are some of the issues that have
contributed in the increase water pollution lately.
 There are numerous initiative and solutions introduced in the world in order to lead to
facilitation of clean and hygienic water but the real power to do the same lies in the hands
of the general public (Meuleman, 2018 ). The general population can be characterised as
the one who can really implement change in their ignorant behaviour and work towards a
sustainable environment by promoting the importance of clean sanitisation and water in
the society.
 The ideas of conducting recreational programs for the water resources can be termed as
an innovative way of including people towards the conservation process and enabling
their engagement and involvement in the water conservation process as well. This will
help them to see the prevailing causes up close and personal and get relent ideas about
what all practices can be further implemented towards the promotion of clean water
bodies and more hygienic sanitisation.

Conclusion
It can be concluded that clean water and sanitisation is the most important aspect in terms of
environmental sustainability. Important and innovative steps and initiatives must be undertaken
by the society in order to preserve the natural sources of water as well as to promote water
conservation methods and systems within the general population. Recreation programs is one of
the most creative ways towards water and sanitisation. As a society, it is the duty of its members
to work towards developing a sustainable world for the generations to come in the future and
provide them with a natural habitat that can grant hem the basic needs and requirements. The
respective objective can be achieve through sheer cooperation and coordination among all the
members of the society and their willingness to add contribution towards the encouragement of
water conservation and clean sanitisation.
