Relevance of future career skills in the target area
The future career area chosen by me is an accounting professional which can be achieved by
doing bachelors in accounting major. This future work skills of computational thinking,
virtual collaboration, and novel and adaptive thinking is highly relevant to my target area
because it will provide me the career related information related to accounting which I would
be able to apply it effectively in my target career of becoming an accounting professional. It
will give me great insight regarding the tools and techniques required to make things into
reality in an effective manner. these set of skills will be highly useful in computing the
inferences and applying adaptive thinking into new policies and regulations related to
accounting area (Borghuis, 2016).
Evidence of competence level in these skills using STAR model
Some of the elements of the STAR model are
Strategy- I have the clear set of strategies in securing the placement in the reputed company
where I would be able to get things done in an effective manner. these clear set of strategies
will be helpful in achieving the better level of competence in the area (Bowyer-Crane, 2017).
Power- the second element that is power which will be important in bringing the effective
results by ensuring the right ways of doing things. The skills like computational skills and
novel and adaptive thinking is important in ensuring the great degree of power in making
things done.
Processes- in the accounting professional, the information flow is usually related to financial
performance of the business that include numbers. The skills of computation will be highly
useful in in ensuring the smooth flow of information where things can easily be ensured.
Rewards-
Rewards are helpful in keeping employee in the organization motivated in the long run. it
makes things very easier for achieving the target goals. The evidence that I have in regrading
the level of competence is good management of people in past thus ensuring the good level of
social intelligence.
People-
The other important skills that I have is the virtual collaboration skills that are helpful in
ensuring the good degree of collaboration at virtual space. The good degree of collaboration

at virtual space is helpful in achieving the targeted goals and objectives in the accounting
profession. In the past, as team leader, I was able to secure the good level of collaborations in
various activities that is evident of good level of competence in the skills.
Methods and learnings-
The information that I derived about myself is through personality related tests taken up by
me that were helpful in informing me about the right set of skills and competencies that I
have about myself. These personability test were helpful in bringing the right degree of
awareness among the qualities or competencies so that the right goals can be achieved in the
best manner. this type of reflection will be helpful in achieving the right career planning so
that best decisions can be taken in future (institute for future, 2019).
