INTRODUCTION
Business information system is a practice that followed to bring new information into
the business. This is more like identifying the information that can support the business
operations of venture. This report is based on the case study of Swinburne University in
respect to its practice of converting the classes online. This project would discuss about
different aspects and elements related to this decision making done by business organisation.
Henceforth, report will emphasis over the PEST Analysis in respect to this decision making.
SWOT Analysis would also conduct. Furthermore, porter five forces analysis will also be
done under this project.

PEST Analysis
PEST Analysis is an external business environment analysis that could direct some
areas that can understand and allow the business house to take on important decision making
by evaluating the entire structure.
Political factor
Political situation in Australia is very much progressive towards the online learning
platforms. Especially after the covid pandemic is over the government has given a huge
priority to online mode of learning and education through internet (Al-Fraihat, Joy and
Sinclair, 2018). The priority of government has been switched towards the online learning
mode so that students and learners can get an easy access to different learning platforms. The
political stability of Australia would also support the decision making of converting the
traditional teaching technique into online mode of learning.
Economic factor
The education sector in Australia is very emerging in nature and especially the online
teaching becomes one of the very progressive markets in the country. The education sector
growth rate is expected to be around 6% in Australia especially after the paradigm shift of
switching towards the online learning model (Cha and Kwon, 2018). The per capita income
of people also make it affordable for the people to provide children access to the online
learning model as it take extra cost other than school and colleges fees and expenditures.

customers in market.
Social factor
Society in Australia has also become very much active towards enrolling with the
online learning platforms. Post covid tenure could get an engagement of the people more
towards the online learning platforms and techniques. The interest and belief of people
towards the online learning practice has also been emerged that could also motivate the
Universities in Australia to explore the online learning area. Increasing awareness of people
towards the sector become one of the key reason Universities and educational institutes
prioritises the new way of learning practice. This is also trendy and provides a reasonable
scope to all educational institutes to grow in the market.
Technological factor
Technological factor is another backbone of the online learning or education related
practices. Technical advancement of Australia makes it more realistic for the country to
channelize the practice of e-learning in country. This could make it realistic for the
educational institute to get engaged towards the online learning model so that more number
of students could take an advantage of quality teaching of the University.
The above factors stated the external business environment that would favour and
empower the University in getting the success against the decision making.
SWOT Analysis
SWOT Analysis is an internal analysis that could drive the different strength,
weakness, opportunity and threat part of the company business idea. The internal assessment
is much needed in process to ensure the possible success of the business idea.

university and educational institute has switched over the online learning model. All this
could allow aggressive level of market competition (Issa, 2018). This force is high and would
drive the company to follow more competitive policies related to prices so that Swinburne

more number of students could be attracted towards the organisation.

quality discounts.
Regular training and development programs of teachers must be channelizes at the
