INTRODUCTION
The present report is based on SWOT analysis of APPLE Inc. It is an organisation which
manufactures as well as markets media devices, personal computers and mobiles. It also sells
related soft wares and services that are related to its products. This company majorly sells
iPhones, iPads, Apple watches, TVs and different accessories, services. It offers products across
the world through retail and online stores. Apple also serve different products via cellular
networks and carriers. In this chapter the detailed SWOT analysis of Apple will be discussed.
MAIN BODY
There are various business analysis tools available to analyse a company. SWOT analysis
of Apple is described as follows:
Strengths
It has an ability to develop and design the hardware, software, different applications and
related services that enable customers to easily use its products and their solutions. Further,
Apple has created a competitive advantage that no other entity can match it. The main reason
behind this is having capabilities to design, manufacture hard ware and software. There is no
company except Google and Samsung who can challenge Apple's competitive advantage
(Valentin, 2001). The other strength of this firm is a strong brand image. It is one of the most
known brands operating worldwide. It has got this recognition due to its strong capabilities of
marketing and advertising.
Weaknesses
The products and services of Apple Inc. come with a much higher prices than other
popular brands. Its competitors take advantage of this weakness of Apple and sell their products
in much lower prices than this enterprise. It affects the sales of Apple's mobiles, tablets and
watches, etc. Other biggest weakness of this firm is it’s over dependence on iPhones. Despite of
having a wide range of products and services, its profit majorly depends upon the sale of
iPhones. It is going to harm overall competitive advantage that has been created by Apple in the
past years (Friesner, 2011).
Opportunities
Despite of having some big weaknesses there are some opportunities for Apple Inc. to
grow. The major opportunities for this company are increased demands for smartphones and also
for tablets. Additionally, it creates new products regularly for the customers. Also, it is

continuously works towards increasing the distribution networks which is beneficial for the
company. Further, Apple has globalised its products due to which consumers can easily reach to
it by the help of technology. It results in increased sales globally. Also, Apple is making
strategies for diversification of products which include new and less expensive merchandise.
This will enable to offer more and wide variety products to buyers.
Threats
The lower sales of smartphones is a being a threat for this entity. As people use to buy
these phone for 2 to 3 years maximum. So they do not purchase new ones while the current
mobile is working well (Rothaermel, 2015). This results in less demand of smart phones and it
becomes more difficult when these phones are of higher prices. Next biggest threat for it is new
competitors. There are coming various new mobile companies which are offering same features
and services in much lower prices than Apple. So it can be a challenge for Apple Inc. to sell
large number of smart phones in near future.
CONCLUSION
From the present report it can be easily articulated that there is no denial of Apple Inc. to
being one of the biggest organisations across the globe but there are several threats for it to stay
at this position in the future (Valentin, 2005). However, it is inventing new and better products
to be in competition.
