EXTERNAL OPPORTUNITIES THREATS
1. I am a fast learner. In case of a need for
organizational or structural adjustment in the
institution, I have the capacity to effect the
change with minimal opposition.
2. I have access to information. The
organization provides me with an avenue to
access current information about management
through constant internet access.
3. Presence of a ready team to facilitate
delegation of duties for the success of the
organizational.
4. The organization has a reliable staff that can
guarantee success with minimal supervision.
5. Availability of retraining plans in the
organization for managers to get informed of the
current trends in management.
6. The organization has created a conducive
working environment. The management style is
inclusive and gives an avenue for all employees
to participate in the decision making process
hence enables one to learn from his or her
colleagues.
1. Hypocrisy. Many times, you are forced to say what may
be difficult to implement. For instance, due to personal
issues or unforeseen circumstances, the manager may be
forced to report to work late even though he normally insists
to his subordinates to be time conscious.
2. Failing to set clear targets. The desire to include
everybody in the team and capture their opinion may make it
difficult to set clear targets for the department.
3. The desire to be liked by everybody in the organization.
4. Complacency. The organization has its way of doing
things and may not offer an opportunity for employees to
devise their procedures leading to stagnancy in skill
development.
5. There is excessive connectivity in the organization. This
makes managers and their subordinates to have negative
attitudes towards each other. Nobody likes to be watched
over every time as he does his duties.
6. The directors of the institution have limited confidence on
the staff. There is constant fear that the employees of the
organization are after the salaries and not working for the
good of the organization.
