Academic skills refers to certain abilities which tackle the process or organising and
taking fresh knowledge, retaining information or dealing with assessments. Swot analysis consist
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats which are required to be determined for strong
points and reducing the weak ones (Asif and et. al., 2017). The present report is based on Tesla
and focus on its Swot analysis.
MAIN BODY
The SWOT analysis consist strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Tesla
company. It is beneficial to analyse such factors to utilise the strengths and work on weaknesses
to overcome with them for achieving desired goals of business successfully.
SWOT analysis of TESLA
Strengths – Initially, technology is strength of Tesla as it remain always connected with
cutting edge technologies and many of other organisations has been adopted advanced
technologies which are introduced by Tesla. It involves few of top levelled brands including
Daimler, Mercedez-Benz and Toyota which facilitate to improve goodwill of company in
market. However, Political & government support is a strong point for the given company as
they had obtained a USD 465 billion for energy management projects under UD department of
Energy. Meanwhile, Tesla has a monopoly as they started off targetting a very niche segment
which was electric and alternate cars which helps then to gain steeper growth than most of its
counterparts. Moreover, the another strength is great leadership & team spirit because CEO of
the company is extremely passionate about engineering and an astute salesman which make
equally proficient in engineering as well as commercial site of business (Kancherla and Daim,
2018).
Weaknesses – Firstly, weakness of Tesla consist poor liquidity as compared to
competitor like Ford with USD 20 billion, General Motors having USD 25 billion and Fiat
Chrysler Auto mobiles with USD 40 billion because Tesla has only USD 3 billion that is not
enough for survival. Secondly, it involves capacity issue of Tesla as the manufacturing plant has
capacity to produce 500,000 vehicles which is responsible to make it difficult to target higher
volumes. Thirdly, they have weakness of having poor customer awareness because Tesla
manufacture very specialise products that are important for atmosphere due to their sustainability

Opportunities – The Tesla has an opportunity to apply an effective idea of developing
lower priced models which helps to attract new customer along with retaining the current ones
which facilitate to grab more market share in proper manner. However, they can put efforts for
boosting up awareness and support to environmentalism which is helpful to increase trust of
people as well as government which improve brand image in market (Alghalith, 2018). In
addition to this, Tesla company can prefer large international market potential which is
favourable to expand business and increase profitability of business respectively. Moreover, they
can used more advanced technology which provide support in respect of increasing battery life
and also spark other innovations for improving customer bases. Additionally, Tesla have an
opportunity to prefer fresh technologies by launching unique products including hybrid vehicles,
green cars, electric cars, battery operated cars and self driven autonomous cars at affordable price
my implementing innovative ideas to grab customers of middle class.
Threats – The threat of Tesla consist that they build specific niche vehicles but it still
face competitions from both luxurious as well as environment friendly brands including Google,
Toyota and Ford (Guangul and Chala, 2019). However, Tesla has manufactured unique and
advanced vehicles at an expensive cost whereas it competitors Ford & Nissan do the same at
more affordable price so that they are much successful than Tesla.
The Tesla is required to focus on strengths and opportunities in order to utilise them for
increase brand image and profitability of the organisations. It is necessary to use strong point for
improving effectiveness of products and main their uniqueness from product of other brands. At
the other hand, they must put efforts to work on their weaknesses and threats in respect of
boosting up customer base appropriately.

important to be carried out for determining strong and weak points in appropriate manner. It
