INTRODUCTION
Virgin media is the British company which deal in electric items such as telephone,
internet or any media platform through which the communication can be done and also able to
reach to large customers (Xian, 2018). This was founded in 2006 and its headquarter is in Hook.
They are engaged with around 14,004 employees carrying their business at global level. Present
report is based upon the conducting the SWOT analysis which is used in determining the factors
which helps in undertaking the internal matter in wider way.
SWOT ANALYSIS
In context of identifying the internal working of the company, SWOT is conducted to
determined various factors under the following aspects such as:
Strength: As this company is formed under the merger between the NTL and Telewest
company and than the rebranding of such company name is done in respect of giving
identity to the particular brand name. Thus, they carry the strong brand image in market
in respect of providing services through internet, telephone or also cable services so that
they can reach to large global level. It is also examined that they satisfy the needs of the
customer in better way and this results in attracting and building large base of customer
through their innovative services (Paes and et.al., 2019). In respect of entering into new
markets, they plan the strong strategies to reach the customer and attract them towards
the innovative services. They also related to carrying the major strength which is
examined through carrying the fibre optic cable network which is the new invention done
by the virgin media in UK (Qian, 2017). The major strength which they carry is relating
to dealing to public directly through fulfilling the demand in respect of providing such
scheme which carries the nominal budgets.
Weakness: In this, the weakness is examined in respect of facing the cultural issue
among the employees as their is merger between the two companies and than the virgin
media is initiated. Thus, in such aspects the issue is undertaken in respect of not
satisfying the condition of both the companies employees in better way (Shankar, 2017).
The weakness which is also identified is relating to not managing cost in right way. As
due to most of the business committed through online thus, the IT department is to be
appointed with skilled and trained person. Thus, in such aspects lot of cost management

is undertaken in respect of resolving the issue which is examined through technology
aspects (Dumitrasco, 2017).
Opportunities: In context of having changes in government policy, virgin media carries
the advantages in respect of increasing the business in other countries. As most of the
customer are shifting their interest through adapting the internet television by using the
broadband procedure (Rowell, 2016). Through this aspects, it results in gaining more
advantages in adapting such changes which is emerged at global level. The opportunity
which they also gained is resulting to getting changes to penetrate with more companies
through undertaking such procedure to get better results. As due to changes in time, this
is one of the most demanding aspects among the people to prefer to such aspects and
reduces the cable wires in country.
Threats: In this respect of gaining the advantages regarding undertakings such factors
which is unique and different from other. The threats also arises in respect of cutting their
customer in better way as in context of Orange or BT companies they are also dealing in
same products and also building the strong base with customers (Hooper, 2016). The
another threats is identified in respect of attracting the IT employees by raising higher
salary which results in cutting their crucial employees from the work place. Thus,
through this aspects it result in affecting their reputation by resolving the issue of the
customer in better way. The threat also raised in respect of changes in government
policies as in context of Paris agreement (2016) threats arises in respect of entering into
the market through its existing products. As most of the countries not allow to import
such products which affects their economy and stability to sustain in market for longer
way (Tavakoli, Schlagwein and Schoder, 2017).
CONCLUSION
From the above study, the report conclude that by conducting the SWOT analysis helps
in identifying the internal working procedure and also determine the company strategies in
respect of reaching to large customer through their innovative ideas. As due to changes in time
most of the person are using the internet services to get faster speed data and also the clarity
which they are getting, thus the major focus of the virgin media is to retain their interest through
providing innovative services.
