TASK 1
Sydney opera house is the multi venue art centre in the Sydney. It is the world famous
and distinctive buildings. They have formally opened on 20th October 1973 and being designed
by the architect Jørn Utzon. They have the building that change the image of entire country.
They have fusing both modernist and ancient influences which is situated at the site sacred to the
Gadigal people for thousands of years. Their structural elegance have made them one of the
symbol for twentieth century architecture. They also have google cultural institute where they
explore their entire history on more than 50 interactive online exhibition. With their visionaries,
architects, pragmatists, artists, engineers and idealists, they have made their building most
recognised in the 20th century.

Australian leading symbol for social and environmental sustainability. With that they have made
the aim is to deliver the strategic goals of their diverse business to conserve and enhance world's
heritage value

They have adopted the different system that have enhanced the consumption and
environmental practice. In order to do that they have change their lighting system which
previously consume large electricity and the new lighting system have reduced the consumption

of energy and they lead to invest more on protecting the environment. The employee starting
turning off the light when it is not used, this lead to reduce in carbon emission. They have started

According to the above graph, it is state that the organisation is using the different plans
and option for sustainability that ate new printing services, launch of the internal greening of the

There are several areas were the organisation need to improve their performance in order
to meet the sustainability plans, that are as follows:
Gas usage: The company is using large amount of gas for the old air conditioning system so
they need to plan to reduce their gas usage by using the new air concentrating system.
Off-site electricity: the organisation should made new policy and use new of-site electricity
system such as turning off the light when it is not in use.
7 Draft policy update
With the old policy, they have high number of feedbacks which are related to the policies
and procedures, site and venues, security, rental and foods and websites. Which state the
organisation is successful in the influencing people internally but they are not able to affect the
people who are outside the organisation so they need to focus on the waste management recycle
management in order to maintain sustainability.

The organisation must be committed to the different laws and regulations in order to
maintain and implement sustainability policy such as conserving natural resources, reduce
pollution and waste, minimise green house gas emission and enhance natural environment.

Implementation plan
There are different corporation policies made by the organisation such as to set, deliver
and communicate sustainability goals and execute that plan in every three years, maintenance of
clear accountabilities, monitor and access the performance of employer and employee to gain the
different standards, benchmarks and target. These policies can be implemented properly when
they organisation put efforts to protect the environment, not to produce large waste, use of
renewable resources, proper dumping of waste and well as they should communicate these
measure to the population so that they can also help the organisation to maintain and protect the
environment. The company should also support small scale industries by providing fund or such
technologies which help to reduce environmental pollution. The organisation have made two
objective that are reduced energy waste which includes fall in electricity use by 2% and gas use
by 4% and second objective are engaged and inspire which includes engaging staff in supporting
sustainability plans, communicate information and train employees and inspire audience to

consider sustainability in everyday life. To implement these objective organisation need to use
such technologies which help them to reduce use of electricity and gas. With the help of new
techniques, company can protect the environment, they can train their employees and inspire the
customer to maintain proper environment condition (Crane and Matten, 2016).
When the resources is evaluated, organisation should use renewable resources which
reduce cost of procurement as well as it helps them to protect their environment. Energy is
mostly used by the workers in order to produce finish goods. Workers should help the
organisation to reduce the use of gas and electricity. They should be provides proper and
innovative techniques which help them to achieve this objective. Further, they should be
provided proper target for every three months for the use of resources, then create motivation
among the employees and they start reducing the use of resources. Other than that
communication also plays key role sustainability of the organisation. The company should
transfer and explain all the plans in proper way so that employee can implement those objective
in effective way (Lippiatt, 2017). The plans that are made by the organisation should be
presented in-front of employees because they are the only people who can achieve the company's
goal (Shiva, 2016). The questionnaire which is prepared by the organisation, reviewed that the
presentation have created better understanding about the sustainability policy of the Sydney
Opera House and it has engaged all the employees and create motivation to implement those
policies. It is being summaries that the organisation should use effective techniques in order to
reduce use of resources and communicate that plans to employees in order to motivate them to
achieve objectives.
