 Western Sydney has an overall 9%
population of the Australian country with a
third-largest economy.
 Also, the proposed Airport, avails numerous
job opportunities industries by offering an
improved access to its aviation services
(Rob, Niels, & Bert, 2018)

 The transport links to the airport allow it to
meet its full potential and play important
roles in supporting the proposed Western
Sydney airport and the city itself.
 This paper discusses the opportunities and
challenges of the rail service expansion in
Western Sydney for connection to the
proposed airport by rail (Chris, 2015).

The NSW and the Australian
governments talk of initiating studies
on improved long-term needs of the
passenger rail with feasibility in
service delivery of rail to the airport
(Shigeru & Surya, 2012).

Objectives
 The objective of this research is to
identify a long-term preferred rail
network for Sydney town that balances
the residential needs and the
requirements of this region(Mary, 2009).

Literature review
The Greater Sydney Commission aims at making
Sydney more productive, livable and sustainable.
Connectivity
 There is an intended development of rail network
capable of equitable improved access to the
Sydney city for its services and opportunities
(Christine, Manish, & Jeffrey, 2013).

Environmental Stability
 The travelling population would have to be set
at sustainable modes that improves the
utilization of asset and the efficiency of energy
through the use of rail connection in portions of
the travels.
Social Inclusion
 An additional, public transport choice to the
Sydney community would allow an increase in
social activities (Bruce & Jennifer, 2013)

Productivity
Rail network development facilitates
an efficient and sustainable
development of the economy in
Sydney and supports the
development of the proposed
airport(Michigan, 2008).

Assessment of rail options to the
Government Objectives
The Sydney rail connection is
proposed to go to the proposed
airport with the considerations on
the ways these options would
integrate with the network that
exists in transportation (Brebbia &
Ricci, 2017).

Identification of Preferred Option
Consultations would be done by the
use of submissions for concerned
residents as well as the suggestions
from various parties to come up
with a preferred option(OECD,
2003).
