Part one: Corporate Proposal III: Linux and Windows integration
To get Linux and Windows work together, a network administrator needs to have what
computer scientists refer to as dual set-up. In here one has first to install Windows server first or
windows OS first as when installing Linux operating system, the OS is able to recognize that the
Windows operating system is already installed. When one is booting the OS is able to prompt
one to choose how they want to launch the system. In case one is to run Linux then this paper
recommends one to run Ubuntu for windows it is better to go for Zorin. Another option that this
paper would go for is the run the Operating System in a VM. This is very ideal if Rouge system
administrators or the users want to run few of Linux services (Microsoft, 2012)
As a network manager, this paper will recommend the construction company to with
virtual machine. With the VM the end users of the organization are able to have that experience
of dedicated hardware. With windows server, the construction company can utilize the ReFS
feature as the primary file system. This feature has the capability of being more resistant to
corruption than its predecessors. In addition, with this feature, the construction company is able
to allocate for its storage operations without having to initialize it. In addition, with technical
preview 3 feature, the construction company is able to provide a central point for managing and
monitoring the organization network services and infrastructure. Other features which come with
windows are enhanced gateway for the organization remote sites and connecting to the Azure
(Krause, 2017).
Part 2: File and Print sharing
There two windows permissions which are available in windows environment i.e. NTFS
permissions and the shared folder permissions. The shared permissions usually control the access
to the folders or the computer disk volume. The basic types of permissions are full control, read

and execute, write, read, and modify. With full control, one is able to modify, delete, move, and
modify directories and files as week as the associated properties. With this type of permission,
use is also able to change the settings of any sub-directory and files. With the modify permission
one is only able to view the file properties and modify files, one can also delete files from the
directory. To set these permissions one just need to right click a folder, then click properties,
then open the tab for sharing, then click the advanced sharing, then permissions, then selecting
the group or users from the group and lastly the selecting the preferred permission.
To create a new workstation for the construction company lets the human resource
department, one only needs to start the start a user manager for the domains, then creating a new
global group example the HRROGUE followed by adding the pseudo-admin for the user to the
group. Lastly, the network administrator is required to start the user manager in all the
organization's workstation and adding the new global group to all the workstations. To create
drive maps for each of the shared folders in windows server one needs to first locate the
windows server or where one wants to create drive map. One the clicks on the folder and
chooses a map and the dialog box one enters the address of either the IP address or the machine
name (Carvalho, 2013).
