SYSTEM ANALYSIS
Vision Document
Introduction
The purpose of the vision document is to identify the problem, capabilities and the
benefits of the project that has been proposed. As per the specifications of the project, an
information system is to be developed that will be capable of capturing story or problems of the
patients, as they are narrated. The following paragraphs of the report talk about the major
problems, benefits and the capabilities of the systems that has been proposed.
1. Problem
The system that is proposed is expected to provide a solution to a number of problems.
The system is proposed for Headspace that works with the young person with a mental illness.
One of the major problems associated with the mental ill patients is that they are not very keen to
discuss their problems again and again. However, these patients might need to visit a number of
healthcare professionals prior to getting the required help. The project NewAccess is mainly
proposed in order to provide the needed help to the mental ill-health patients. The proposed
system is expected to solve a number of problems which are as follows-
1. It has been observed that the young ill health patients might find it difficult to re tell
their story every time they meet a new healthcare professional, thereby saying very less about
their problems (Leventhal et al., 2015).
2. The healthcare professionals find it difficult to provide the required help to the mental
ill health patients as they tend to say very little about their problem (Moja et al., 2014). This is
another problem associated with the entire system.

SYSTEM ANALYSIS
3. A mental ill health patient might need to visit a number of medical professional before
getting the required help. The mental ill health patients might need to carry their medical records
every time they visit a new professional (Aldosari, 2014). This is needed since a doctor needs to
have an access to the past medical records of his patients (Liu et al., 2016). The mental ill health
patients might not carry all the record with them to the new professional, which is another
significant problem.
As a solution to the above discussed problem, a system is proposed for recording the
story of the patient as it is being narrated for the first time. The proposed system is expected to
solve all the above discussed problems.
2. Capabilities
The capabilities of NewAccess Health record system are as follows-
1. The proposed system will record the story of a patient as it is being told for the very
first time (Nguyen, Bellucci & Nguyen, 2014). The systems is proposed to be implemented and
developed in a way so that the identified problems of the mental ill health patients will be
recorded, as per the will of the patients.
2. The system will be implemented in a way so that it will record and store all the
necessary medical information of the patients (King et al., 2014).
3. The system will be capable of providing the information access to the professionals
that the patients will be visiting in due course of time.

4. Not only the story but also the medication history of the patients will be stored in the
system (Pearce & Bainbridge, 2014). The access to all the medication history of the system will
be provided by the NewAccess system.
The above discussed points indicate the capability of the NewAccess information system
that is being proposed.
3. Benefits
This section of the vision document will be discussing the major benefits of the New
Access information system. The benefits of the proposed system are as follows-
1. The system will eliminate the problem faced by the mental healthcare patients about
retelling their story when they are visiting a new professional.
2. The system will securely store the healthcare information of the patients (Ben-Assuli,
2015). Those information will be accessible only to the healthcare professional whom the patient
will give an access to.
3. The information storage will be secure and its access would be easy. It will help the
health care experts in helping the patients with necessary and required medications.
4. Another significant benefit of the system is the ease of accessibility of the records that
are stored into the system.
The above discussed points indicates the major benefits of the system proposed. The
project is feasible and it is expected to solve the problem faced by the mental ill health patients
and the healthcare professionals.
