Executive Summary:
The main aim of this study is providing an insight of the system design procedures of
the ChemExec accepts pharmacy. In this context the ChemExec accepts pharmacy is facing
various of business regarding issues due to which there is huge loss in their business. Due to
that they are currently interested in developing a new system which will help the ChemExec
accepts pharmacy to reach most of the customers. Thus in this project a new system will be
discussed and will be presented which will expand the business area of ChemExec accepts
pharmacy.

System Scope Document:
The current Business Problem:
The business problem which is currently faced by the Chem Exec Pharmacy
Company is that their revenue regarding the business is decreasing constantly. It has been
assessed that the revenue of the organization is currently decreasing by approximately by 4%
a year and due to this factor their overall profit is decreasing 8% per year. There are several
reasons that has been identified for this decrement in revenue of the Chem Exec Pharmacy
Company. In this case the first reason is that price control both of the contracts with facilities
and Medicare reimbursement is managed by the enormous health care companies and by the
health maintenance organizations. The second problem is that in the business there are some
operating procedures that are inefficient and haven’t received any type of comprehensive
review for a very long time. Also, another problem in this context is that there is an increased
competition from large scale retail pharmacy chains which includes the local hospital also.
Thus the Chem Exec Pharmacy Company needs an effective system which will provide
competitive advantage to them within the current market context.
Purpose Statement:
Here the main purpose of this document is finding solution regarding the current
business problem of the Chem Exec Pharmacy Company. Due to this current problem the
Chem Exec Pharmacy Company is facing financial loss. Thus this report will also help the
Chem Exec Pharmacy Company to enhance their business processes.
Benefit:
The main benefit which will be provided to Chem Exec Pharmacy Company that their
business processes will be improved further which will help the organization regarding better

revenue generation. This report will provide the insight of improving the service and reducing
the costs.
System Capabilities:
The system capabilities defined as ability of a system of executing some specific type
of actions. Thus from the project it has been identified that the main system capabilities is
that this new system is capable of improving streamline operations. This system is also
capable of improving the revenue of the Chem Exec Pharmacy Company. The projected web
based application will be also able to establish a system that will be capable of connecting the
client facilities with the organization and the extranet will be able to enable client health care
facilities for ordering the drugs. This system will also be capable of enable the suppliers for
functioning as a part of Chem Exec Pharmacy organization.
Exclusion:
The exclusion area of the new projected system is that it will only help to improve the
streamline operations regarding the organization (Pedrycz 2016. Improvement in the profit
and revenue is subjected to this system but currently based on the improvement of streamline
operation of the organization. Pharmacy products delivery system will be improved but no
live tracking system will be provided to the customers for tracking their ordered products.
FURPS+ requirement of the system:
The FURPS is considered as the technique for validation and prioritization of the
requirements as per the requirement of the system. The FURPS is the acronym of
Functionality, Usability, Reliability, Performance, and Supportability for a particular period
of time (Taranath 2016). The FURPS+ is a technique which provides the requirement
classification for the functional and non-functional requirements.
Document Page
5SYSTEM DESIGN
Functionality: The F in the FURPS+ represents the functionality. By the functionality it
actually represents the main product features of the business regarding solution that is being
under development process. In most of the cases the functional requirement are mainly
technically oriented. For most of the cases the functional requirement consists licencing
(Dennis and Wixom 2018), auditing, mail, localization, security and management. The main
functionality or the features of the current system which is currently being developed is that it
will provide application of connecting the clients with the company. This new system is also
having a feature of extranet service which provides client health care facilities to order the
drugs.
Usability: The letter U of the FURPS+ represents usability in this case. The usability of the
system actually includes capturing and stating requirements which are currently based around
user interface issues. In the usability sections the main things which included are the interface
aesthetics, accessibility and consistency of the user interface. Thus usability of a particular
system actually defines how much easy the system to use for an average user or person. The
current system which will be developed for the Chem Exec Pharmacy Company will be very
much usable in nature. An attractive user interface will be included the system with having all
the basic functionalities for ordering medicines online.
Reliability: Within the FURPS, the letter R defines the reliability factor for the system which
is designed for the Chem Exec Pharmacy Company. The reliability factor includes some
important aspects which includes accuracy of the system, availability of the system and the
recoverability of the system (Rajaraman 2018). The recoverability defines that how the
system will be able to recover from critical failures such as shut down failure. Thus the
projected system must be having all of this aspects to become a reliable system in nature.

6SYSTEM DESIGN
Performance: The performance factor is also a part of the FURPS requirement of the system
(Gonen 2016). The performance factor of the system includes throughput of the information
that is provided by the system. The performance factor of the projected system of Chem Exec
Pharmacy Company is depending on recovery time required by the system, start-up time
required by the system and the time required by the system for provide a response against an
input by the users.
Supportability: The supportability factor is the also a part of the FURPS attributes of a
system. The supportability factor defines how much supportive is a system for different type
of scenarios. This scenarios can include changes in hardware platform, changes in software
platform and some other specific changes. Thus for the system of Chem Exec Pharmacy
Company to be a supportive one it must consist the requirements of adaptability,
compatibility, installability, configurability, localizability, scalability and maintainability.
All the above factors was related with the FURPS of the “FURBS+” attributes of a
specific system. Here the “+” factor defines some extra constraints and this constrains
includes interface constrains, implementation constrains, physical constrains and the design
constraints.
Design Constrains: The design constrains actually limits the design of a system. Regarding
the system of Chem Exec Pharmacy Company the main design constrain is that the system
need to be designed specifically for the client health care facilities where the users cannot
order a particular medicine without proper prescription which will confirm about the
medicine and the user.
Implementation Constrains: The implementation constraints puts the limitation on the
attributes of a system that are related with the system implementation requirements. This
implementation constrains include limitations on construction or in the coding process of the

projected system. Limitation can occur in the platform of the system and in standard of the
system. Currently the main limitation in this system is regarding platform. This main
limitation regarding the platform is that this system will not be available to large number of
users initially, due to the genuine prescription regarding factor.
Interface Constrains: The interface constrain is considered as a specific type of requirement
for interacting with some external item. In most of the cases a developed system requires to
interact with an external system. Thus in this case the main requirement of the interface
constrains of the current developed system is that it requires some additional information
such as location of the user which can be accessed through accessing the location information
of the user or the address of the location can be manually inputted by the user (Lessard, Recht
and Packard 2016).
Physical Constrains: The physical constrains is the limitations regarding physical
components that is used for development of the system of Chem Exec Pharmacy Company.
Mainly this type of physical constrains includes size, shape and weight. Here the size of the
developed system need to be limited so that it can be accessible by an average user.
Event Table:
The event table provides some key information regarding each of the event of the
undertaken system. In this case the main attributes of the event table is the triggers, source,
activity, destination and response. The trigger is the occurrence of some useful thing in the
system which either arrival of data or something point in time. The source is external actor
which supplies some data to the system. The activity defines behaviour of the system when a
specific type of event is occurred. The response is considered as an output made by the
system which goes directly to its system. The destination is considered as the external agent
which receives the output data from the system.
