The traveller information system that has been chosen for this study will help to provide the travellers
with information on the route that they have to take for reaching their destination from current location or
another particular location. The system has to be tested properly prior to implementing it in the real time
scenarios as errors may mislead the users thus loss of reliability on the system.
Usability testing
This testing is done for evaluating the ease of use in context to the system along with assessing the
functionalities by checking how easy it is to operate the system from the perspective of a user. This type of
testing is considered as a part of non-functional testing as it is focused mainly on the usability specifications of
the system [1]. For example, users should be able to easily navigate through the system for finding suitable
route so that the users can easily reach their destination with updated information.

Functional testing
This type of testing is done basically for ensuring the designed system meets the desired functional
requirements. The functional requirements of a system are derived from use cases being developed for the
system. This testing ensures that the system is working as per expectation or requirements of the users and as
per document prepared for requirements specification [3]. Functional testing comprises of Unit, System
Integration and User acceptance tests ensure proper working of the system and it has to be done before
proceeding with usability testing.
Section 5: Cloud based Architecture
The cloud based GPS tracking system is referred to as a reliable and scalable mechanism nowadays.
Cloud infrastructure is used by the integrated GPS. While working with any system the users do not have to
think about the data management [5]. Cloud based GPS offers regular and automated backup. In addition to
this, the issues of geographically distributed data centers can be tracked easily with this mechanism.
The system is defined as a highly scalable one as it is managed by cloud computing architecture. If any
such additional services are required then the users have to simply request for the additional requirements.
Web based interface is used by the GPS integrated tracking system [4]. In most of the businesses security is
defined as a major issue, thus in order to retain the exiting security and addition security factors system
encryption is used with secured socket layer (SSL).
Section 6: Functional Solutions
The system will comprise of various functionalities to provide a pathway to the users before or during
their travel. The system will request for input from the users regarding the source location if they choose it to
be different from the present location and the destination location. Then the system will suggest some possible
routes and the user may choose their preferred route to be on track and reach their destination.
Login/Registration: A user will be able to login to the system within their login credentials and access
functionality offered by the system and if the user is not registered then the user will be also able to register
and become a member of the system.
Location search: A user will be able to search for a particular location and the system will calculate the
total distance from the current location so that the users can plan their travel accordingly.
Finding route: A user will be able to find possible routes after entering the source location and
destination location where they want to reach. The system provides various routes to reach a particular

location. In case of any accident or other incident the system will also show alternative routes to reach the
destination.
Section 7: System Processes and Work Practices
The work practices that are implemented by the business for ensuring successful implementation of
the system processes are presented as below:
Only one person is provided the responsibility of managing the system implementation
All the users and stakeholders are involved through the entire project
Required Technical support whether internal or external has been obtained
Documentation of detailed requirements specification and reviewed by every individual
stakeholders of the system [2]
Review of related practices or procedures for maximizing the opportunities to make
improvements
Proper plan has been developed for testing, training, implementation and maintenance of the
system
Full testing environment has been prepared to test key aspects of the system [6]
Ensured that training and initial support is available for first few days
Documenting user friendly manual and ensuring availability
